Yep self appointing himself an engineer
Appropriate? No; I’d agree that was not the wisest nor the most effective way to respond. And the consequences should have been and probably were quite understood. The entire dispute here though is not about the behavior it’s about whether the choices they made should disbar them from being considered for employment elsewhere. That’s where people disagree. I’m in the camp that says this was a special, unique case, and while I’d certainly ask the candidate about it and get their take on why they did what they did, I would not a priori consider them a bad risk.
Absolutely true, but again, is that reason enough to never hire this person? If ever there was a situation where you might forgive an instance of poor judgement, it would be the situation of an engineer caught in the dumpster fire here.
And now it’s spreading to SpaceX.
what the hell is this line of reasoning? You can’t charge me for improper behavior as a CEO because I don’t want to be a CEO anyway so it doesn’t count?

You know, as I’m sure I’ve argued many times on this forum, I’m very much not a believer in Great Man Theory. Nonetheless, in the past I’ve really appreciated where Musk focused his efforts. SpaceX has done some really phenomenal things and Musk/Tesla did a lot to make EVs cool and something that Americans really wanted.
All that is to say that he had engendered some goodwill with me, even if I didn’t credit him personally with getting a rocket into space or building a Tesla. It is really amazing how quickly he was able to torch it all and now I just revile the guy.

Pretty much the same for me. It’s like, when I didn’t actually know him, I liked him.

I guess you sign the pledge and still clock out at 5pm, forcing them to fire you. What a stupid world. Edit: or maybe that would constitute a contract. Don’t sign, shoe up for work tomorrow, when they don’t let you in demand termination papers, when they don’t keep paying sue them?
It’s almost like Elon Musk does not like lawyers and does not listen to them.
If you add refuses to pay them he’s got yet another thing in common with his new buddy Trump.
So wait, Musk isn’t paying his legal team? And when did he and DJT become friends? All news to me hashtag. :)
He can just walk up and grab them in the paycheck; when you’re rich and famous, they let you.

This is the second photographer account I’ve seen that was flagged by an automated system and can’t be quickly restored because of Twitter’s cuts. The offending shot was a nice photo of the Artemis launch:
Hmm, some crappy AI-driven image recognition filter, or just lazy people? Both?

No no no, we have to think of a conspiracy theory. I think Elon Musk banned him because his photographs were showing off Northrop Grumman’s rocket.

Was tempted to post that as well @KevinC
