It’s actually a poll. Not that it clarifies the post. Just, it’s a question not a statement.

Wait. It’s almost 6pm in San Francisco, right? And they’re starting now and going until midnight? On a Friday. This is just perfomative abuse now. But hey, it can’t be that many people…
Ok, on one hand 250 is not a lot of engineers left. But on the other hand, this seems to leave Musk with 80 seconds per engineer to do the code review, before he leaves at midnight. I’m sure it’ll be very thorough, and the people who come in for this will feel like their time wasn’t wasted.

I liked this part best.
“There will be short, technical interviews that allow me to better understand the Twitter tech stack,” Musk wrote in one of the emails.
Musk said earlier this week that some Tesla engineers were assisting in evaluating Twitter’s engineering teams, but he said it was on a “voluntary basis” and “after hours”.
So, does that mean they’re doing unpaid work?
Would be hilarious if he later fires these people from Tesla because them being able to spend time on code reviews at Twitter meant there was time left in their life they didn’t ‘hardcore’ at Tesla.

Truly what’s needed in a situation like this is to have a bunch of programmers who work in a completely different industry, aren’t familiar with the stack, have only had time to minimally review things, and are working “voluntarily” after hours, make judgements and decisions.
Does it also mean some tweets will randomly boost themselves and catch on fire?

I don’t know what headlines I imagined coming out one month after Musk’s takeover, but it certainly wasn’t this!
I dunno…I pretty much expected something like that headline…

I decided to close my twitter account. I didn’t use it much and when I did it was mostly just following some UFC fighters, Tom, and maybe Preet. I didn’t want to be part of Musk’s shitshow.
I decided to download my twitter profile archive today, and took a couple of tries for my password. I have been waiting on a pw verification email for 4 hours now. Everything must be working fine.

Wouldn’t be surprised if most of the folks remaining are on H1B visas, where that’s a massive disincentive not to quit.

Found some pic for the said code review…
Big Masters of the Metaverse energy in that group.
On the plus side it’s a very diverse team comprised of all the H1Bs.
Also looks a bit like a sausage party.

We really need a “Like” button.
Impressive room of code-bros.
