Like I said up above. You can think he is just stupid money guy but this was a calculated attempt to destroy this platform. It’s just money. You or your company go bankrupt and never go to jail or deal with any consequences. The world loses a platform that did more good than bad.

Twitter gonna become one of those failed right wing versions of Twitter.
If so, it’s all part of the “burn it down” nihilistic philosophy (to over-dignify it) that has possessed the right wingers. Convinced they cannot actually change minds and create their dystopian (to most) fantasy world, they instead spend untold resources trying to destroy everything.
As part of the belief system of many of these right-wing types is this deep belief that a civil society is by definition impossible. Why? Because if it was, then their entire sense of self and reason for living would go away–they want to position themselves as the alpha male wolves in a world of sheep, and they can only do that if there are no social frameworks to create a workable society. Leaving aside that, no, most of them would not be alphas but more like lunch in such a world, it’s a worldview that sees any civility, compromise, social support, or communal feeling as weakness because in such a world they know they’d at best be ordinary, and they can’t take that. They are seduced by the fringe outliers like Musk who can do what they want because of extreme wealth, but they know deep down they will never have that kind of wealth. So if they can’t have it, they will instead become sycophants and hope when it’s burned down they will be able to lord it over some hell’s half acre of what’s left.

Left-wing accounts and nearly anyone they follow by most accounts.
One politically active person on the list said there were just her friends on there. Like random people from Philly, not political activists.
Edit: LibsOfTikTok is on there, for example. These aren’t bright people.
