Is Stephen King on the list?

No Stephen King. But stuff like the CIA is on there. Several FBI accounts. The Auschwitz Museum.
LA Fire Department.
Just random shit.
Shouldn’t the “collective IQ” row be a single yes/no check, like the net worth row, or do they mean each example is a collective itself, like a dozen rabid ferrets crammed in a duffle bag?

Fucking Tool is on there.
Edit: But no Tom Morello.
Edit2: Maynard’s private account is on the list. Like I said, random as hell.

As mentioned, these are not bright people. 10:1 they just googled “Progressive music” and went from there.

Haha… uhh, that is actually plausible, isn’t it.

The irony of A Perfect Circle being the only Maynard project to avoid the list when the last album is almost exclusively dropping elbows on Trump and conservatives is just a chef’s kiss situation.

I posted it in the social media thread I think, but for those looking to dump Twitter, Post.news seems promising. Also, there are already a bunch of folks from Twitter who have migrated over to it.

I bet they snubbed Jethro Tull too!
Is there anything meaningful a non-political account can do to leave Twitter? The Qt3 account only has a thousand or so followers, and given the current and foreseeable shitshow, I have no desire to participate on the platform any longer. Would I be better off letting the account die a natural death through non-use, announcing on Twitter I’m closing it because I don’t want to be associated with Twitter and then closing it, or just silently closing it?
the woke mind virus strikes again!
I didn’t even know there was a QT3 Twitter account!

My guess is that, if you just let it sit, that it still shows as a member. I personally have not deleted my account. As well I haven’t actually used it for… ever?
Typicallly I have aeen people putting something like “inactive” in their profile name and doing a pinned tweet of the other places to find them.
Rather than juist deleting the account.

Do not close the account. That will make the username available for new account creation in a month, and that will happen quickly given how desirable a 3 character username is going to be. And then stuff you have no control over will be posted by an account that’s been previously associated with your brand.

I’d announce to give folks notice you are migrating, and set up an account somewhere else if you wish.
Usually a week’s notice is considered sufficient.
Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! I think just sticking a notice that it’s inactive for the time being seems the best way to handle the situation. And that’s an especially good point about losing the account name, @jsnell! It was actually given to me by a friend who grabbed it early on, anticipating that I might want it eventually. Even just for my friend’s kindness, it’s worth hanging on to the account name!

Anytime I see Musk referring to “wokeness” I assume it’s just lingering hostility related to his trans child who disowned him
His actions with Twitter make a lot more sense if you assume it’s all based on his basic anti-trans attitudes and hurt feelings from losing contact with his daughter.

Can’t wait for a major new phone platform!
