For a second there I was afraid he was going to hand the site over the a “politically neutral” CEO who would, of course, continue to quietly turn the place into a right-wing hellhole but would provide some cover that might stem the exodus. Fortunately, we are once again saved by the sheer stupidity and venality of these people. Amazing.

Kim Dotcom has been licking Musk’s boots and whispering in his ear the whole time Musk has been running Twitter. He’s basically Musk’s Grima Wormtongue.*

*Which I guess would make Peter Thiel his Sauron.

Valid observation. Though let me try my bit again.

Kim Dotcom!?

I did not see that coming.

This forum needs a like button in the worst way.

A tweet so true and on the mark it might burst into flame.

Wonder how many bots are ‘blue’.

Vox Populi, Vox Dei

Fo’ shizzle!

In other circumstances Musk and his “stalker” would get along. They both are worried about people tracking their movements in real time and have an unheathly obsession eith Grimes.

TSLA fell 8% today, while the NASDAQ was unchanged. This led a large investor in the stock to post reasonable criticisms

To which Elon of course responds like a mature adult and the CEO of multiple major corporations:

Now go back to 2017 when Elon himself was tweeting about how Tesla was overvalued and you’ve completed the Trump Cycle of Stupid.

Thanks, but no. Also, “Haha”.

This afternoon, Musk reaffirmed he’s stepping down as soon as he can find a replacement.

He still claims he’s going to run the Twitter software and server teams, which makes no sense to me. Isn’t that still going to cause him to spend time away from Tesla and SpaceX. Is he actually a software guy (I don’t actually know, how hands on was he at X.com/PayPal — was he actually working on software there or was he more money, marketing, and management?).

Oh, so he’ll just run the parts that are business critical, and which he has literally zero experience or expertise in.

Cool, cool.

Deactivate your Twitter accounts.

No.

“I’m gonna do that thing I’ve known I’ve needed to do since April, and have really, REALLY known I needed to do since October any day now. I swear!”

Sure you will, Elon. Sure you will.

(Had he made a genuine effort in April, he could have gotten any number of people to be Twitter CEO. Now the only people he’s gonna get will be desperate, insane, scamming him, or all three. I would bet on “insane” personally.)

He does have coding experience. It’s how he made his initial money for the most part. There was also family money, but if you did a bit, he did make a fair amount of money on his own.

He had coding experience like I have art experience because I’ve drawn pictures.

He has no training in computer science or software engineering. Nothing he did at a company like Zip2 is remotely on par with with any kind of relevant software engineering done at somewhere like Twitter.

Elon Musk is not a software engineer. He’s not any kind of engineer.

Do your research

Do you think that suggests something that contradicts what I said?

No, Elon Musk is not a software engineer, and completely lacks the expertise or skills necessary to manage Twitter’s software engineering team.

The fact that he wrote trivial software as a child doesn’t actually mean anything.

Also, some rando unsourced article on the Internet isn’t “research”.

Whether or not he’s written code at some point in the past is immaterial. We’ve seen how he manages a software organization for the past month. It’s insane and terrible.

It’s entirely possible that he can like, invert a binary tree or detect a palindrome or whatever. That has nothing to do with managing a large software team, which we know from very recent experience that he is very, very bad at.
