If it’s any consolation, he probably lost a bunch more than that in the crypto crash.
Not particularly surprising, but Elon has made himself sole director of Twitter. Given the amount of regulatory and legal scrutiny Twitter is going to be under, I’m not sure that’s wise, but then nobody has ever accused him of being cautious when it comes to corporate governance.

Musk is the one who tweeted about Pelosi’s husband’s gay lover thing? Christ, he’s just an edgelord.
Any regrets I had about deactivating my account too early were fully erased.
I mean, they’re both hot.

Which as I understand it has never happened, which is one of the reasons his offer to buy happened.

I still love that woman after lusting after a poster of her in my distant youth time period. I agree with your take here.
I still have my Twitter account but don’t tweet as much as follow others. I guess I’m in for the downfall to see what happens.
I like the self-deprecating manner of it, really.

Can we just get a shout out to the fantabulous pulchritude of Ms. Carter. When I was a wee lad in the 70s, ay caramba!
A lot of “the things that weren’t bad enough to make me quit twitter yesterday are making me quit twitter today!”
Which, snark aside, I sort of understand. But not entirely.
Sort of like Facebook’s heel turn some years ago, this is just a good excuse to stop wasting my finite number of minutes remaining on such social media inanities.

Yeah, to me it is weird to have survived Trump being not removed for 4 years saying the most heinous shit, and then Elon Musk is the breaking point.
Also, people posting about quitting a platform? C’mon. Just stop posting and scrolling. Unless you got specific contact info to share, or where you are moving to. Not much more than “I am deleting facebook”
Ok, go off.
Having never signed up for Twitter nor Facebook they both join an illustrious list of things I can’t boycott because I never joined in the fun in first place.

It’s a mess, but I have a great fun time there.
Apparently, he rolled over his holdings into the go-private, so if anything he’s losing money.

I hope Elon doesn’t buy Quarter To Three.

Well, if he pays $44 billion for it I’d be ok with that. I might cancel my patreon though.

@tomchick will be handing out money hats if that happened
Trump didn’t own the platform.
User numbers need to go down. Way down. The overall viability of the platform needs to be in question. You don’t get a critical mass of content creators leaving the platform if there isn’t an exodus of regular users.
I got off facebook in 2015/16 when it became apparent the platform management was overtly trying to destroy democracy. Same thing here.
