You do realise that Twitter is already FULL of porn, right? I mean full on, hardcore, pics and video, right there on the tweets. I think there doesn’t even need to have a warning filter that you need to click through if the poster doesn’t check that option.
Yes, I’m saying it isn’t much of an idea for a genius. Never mind that for Twitter to actually embrace profiting from the distribution of online porn would cost them much of their advertising base and many of their high-profile establishment content providers.
Forget that, they might lose their payment processing capabilities.

Onlyfans went through this last year when their CC companies wanted to back out, and then they didn’t. I would expect if Twitter were to implement something similar, it would do whatever OF did to keep the CC companies around.

What Elon doesn’t get is that his “pay $8 for Twitter” idea is counteracted by the idea of “make the world’s richest man lose tens of billions of dollars for free while you make fun of him the entire time”.
And his entire attempt to sell Package A is making Package B almost inevitable as the real money flow (advertisers) sees him as a toxic edgelord that’s losing his fucking mind in real time.

He paid $44 billion dollars for this. And he made it so he can’t retaliate against anyone because he pretended it was Free Speech issue, which means everyone can insult him all day and at length.
It’s beautiful. Pure, refined schadenfreude that he spent the GDP of a small nation for.

This thread about how the large decline in Something Awful was tied to a pre gamergate movement on the site wanting to remove the strict posting rules and stop moderating content, as the site had become too “PC”
They opened the floodgates after a small but vocal minority of posters kept complaining about the moderation.
It really didn’t work out like they thought.
