Oh no. Looks like someone thinks we might abuse our polling privileges! Well I don’t want to make this super hard for anyone.
I just thought it might be worthwhile to review the votes at the end instead of during.

I suppose we could just make the polls private vote if that’s what people are more comfortable with. The comments that arose from people commenting on the public votes have struck me as silly trash talk / banter in the spirit of the thread, but if anyone has felt uncomfortable or pressured because of them, just let me know (by PM if you’d rather remain anonymous), and I’ll turn them off for next time around.
And after some more thought, I’m leaning toward the numeric rating idea for the first round of voting, to strike the balance between cutting down to 32 in a reasonable amount of time and not eliminating anyone just because of unlucky seeding. Hopefully you can all be trusted not to game the system by giving 1s to everyone but your own entries.

The votes have to be public. Anyone who participates in the Thunderdome knows they do so at their own peril.
I’d hope we could keep it open, including comments, because it’s the THUNNNNNDERDOOOOOME. It’s not like we’re getting personal, and in my case I tried to restrict comments to what my preferences were rather than disparaging anyone else’s. I think we need to keep the playful banter and overall fun spirit alive, whatever method ends up being used.
Although I think a scoring system probably makes more sense in terms of narrowing down the better tracks, I do think the matching system is more in the spirit of the 'dome. Two (or four) tracks enter, one track leaves etc. It does lead to more gnashing of teeth though!
You could also limit the number of entries per person if you wanted to keep the number of matches down.
I agree with the open voting, though not so sure I agree with -changing- votes. But at any rate, it is what it is and I’m happy to have the Thunderdome.

I agree that open voting and the banter that goes with it fits the spirit of Thunderdome, but I also don’t want to keep anyone away who’s actually uncomfortable with it. Accordingly, I think I’ll leave the polls open, but if for whatever reason anyone wants to vote anonymously for a round, just PM me your vote and I’ll add it manually.

I attacked the ones with pets in their avatars.
But seriously, yeah, the open votes I found amusing purely for playful trash talk and banter. It’d be a shame to lose that.
Yeah, I very much agree with this. The ‘two tunes enter, one tune leaves’ feels harsh but it’s very much in the spirit of the thunderdome that inspired it. Where would we be without those Tina Turner gifs and MontyGate?
I think this is respectable and I really hope we’re not deterring anyone!
I’m with Skipper in that I’m just happy this is now a thing on Qt3. It’s not often I get to geek out over game music.
