Which part did you find funny? Are you suggesting that Warframe hasn’t faced stiff competition from BR games? I’ll wait.

The part where you think there’s any significant overlap between the playerbase that has interest in Warframe and playerbase that has interest in BR.

I mean, by your logic Warframe should be flat out gone when you stack it against the BR numbers.

I just wanted to chime in and say how much I agree with this. Epic is like Bernie Sanders - “Oh hey, it looks like this Democratic Party thing can help me get where I want - time to be a Democrat after years of rejecting party affiliation.” I remember what gaming was like before Valve/Steam. The pricing, the greater pain in the ass to get things working, having to hunt down patches on things like patches scroll, etc.

Steam has been demonstrably a major positive for gamers like me.

I see absolutely nothing positive that Epic has done for gamers like me. I certainly do, however, see negatives.

That is - by far - the dumbest thing you’ve posted thus far in this thread. Though I think that’s in competition with your notion that games have to be in the same genre in order to compete with and/or cannibalize a game’s player base.

You mean aside from the fact that they built the #1 engine used in majority of PC games?

And want to implement universal health care!

The number of a unsubstantiated claims and whining here continues to amaze. What is this, the internet?! ;) On the other hand, watching industry veterans and C-level executives on this thread is interesting (notice how most of them are not flaming or whining about Epic?)

All for-profit entities are designed to do one thing: make money; Epic is no better or worse from a profit/ethical standpoint. It’s just a store kids, if you don’t want to spend your money there, that’s your right. Some of us will enjoy new games while others wait. If you want to march and protest on the “Epic and exclusives are evil!” so be it, even if you look petty and ridiculous.

Says the guy who thinks Warframe is a predictor for the future of BR games, lmao.

I’m done. For real this time. There’s only so much stupid shit one can read before resorting to insults that result in a ban.

Yes, it sure is interesting that the people whose job it is to maximize profits are happy with what Epic is doing while the consumers are not. And being a customer who has concerns based on Epic’s actions makes you a whining, petty child. The poor, underdog corporations are lucky they have someone to stick up for them.

If only they had made it exclusive, so I could only use it in Epic games.

Until I see evidence that EPIC is doing something pro-consumer, I will continue to become an angry panda every time an exclusive is announced. Does this look petty and ridiculous? ;)

hah! Awesome, thanks for the grin.

I actually understand the resentment towards exclusivity, even if I don’t agree.

I don’t see the point of being angry at this, just don’t buy on Epic until the store is up to your standards. Just having the exclusives isn’t going to be enough to dislodge Steam, they’ll need to improve to be a true threat…

It took a lot time before Steam, PSN and so on were widely accepted, fixed their technical issues and added a shit ton of quality of life features (and proving they wouldn’t go away overnight, like others). What Epic has to show so far is a lot of gambling money to throw away in doublespeak while offering minimal service and not even acknowledging their privacy and security problems.
If I’m widely unimpressed and voting with my wallet, I’m not exactly going to be “a kid” who cares whether some snarky gamer validates me or not.

Every time an Epic critic is called a whiny manbaby an Epic Store Exclusive Angel™ loses its wings.

1 Like=1 Prayer

PCGamingWiki just signed an exclusive deal with Epic Games to become Epic Gaming Wiki. Details below.

We have some major news to share! PCGamingWiki has signed a new deal with Epic Games to bring PC gaming fixes exclusive to the Epic Games Store. From today, all of our articles will be exclusive to Epic Game Store games, including award winning titles such as Fortnite, Phoenix Point, Heavy Rain and The Outer Worlds.

This deal is a real game changer for our studio, because, thanks to Epic’s support, it is certain that we will be able to update and expand the wiki for years to come.

We are also announcing that we are fully rebranding our website to EpicGamingWiki. To login, you will now need to link and sign in with your Epic Games account. To access content, users will need to spend W-Bucks or ‘wikibucks’ to buy temporary access. W-Bucks are available to buy from the Epic Game Store.

We want to share our success with all the backers who have helped us get here, so we have a special benefit to announce: if you backed or pre-ordered PCGamingWiki at any time since our crowdfunding campaign until today you will receive a year’s free season pass for the wiki, which includes unlimited access to all our articles.

In solidarity with Epic Game Store’s lack of features, we have decided to drop support for: forums, refunds, parties, account sharing, version rollbacks, screenshots, groups, marketplace, mod hosting, library sorting and the entire Linux platform as Epic Game Store has no support these features. Staff members have already begun removing all non-Epic Game Store articles and the creation of non-Epic Game Store articles is now prohibited.

;-)

Calendars, how do they work?

Well, what if you want to play a game that is exclusively for sale on the store that is not up to your standards? Internet anger changes the world, it’s been proven.

Remember when we were all going to have 3 install limits…
