I picked it up last week during the sale too because I’m a sucker for space games. Glad to see it’s getting great reviews.
and there go another 10€ for a great game, Outer Wilds … rats, my backlog is killing me!
The sale damage is only Observation and The Journey for me so far. They were practically giving those away with the rebate. Started the former and am enjoying it a lot. The Journey is next on the play list.
I’m still tempted to get Beyond: Two Souls or Detroit: Become Human at sale price to get to try one of those games at last. But I’m not sure whether it’s worth it yet.
I sucked it up and bought operenicia for 10 bux. I love that game. But I feel guilty now.
(they really do have a pretty streamlined store over there…)

That’s the one tempting me the most.
I feel less guilty as I have played it more… if that is any consolation.
It’s absolutely worth it if you like that genre.
For me Operencia, Shadow Complex, Journey and John Wick Hex as well as a Phoenix Point preorder. If Outer Planets and Rebel Galaxy Outlaw would be available to pre-order I would have got those too but alas.
When does the sale end again?
June 13th, so plenty of time. That said, if something is currently lower priced due to early access status, keep an eye on it.
GOG’s Summer Sale just started today and is looking really good.
I actually think they will be fine…assuming 30-40% of their partners don’t pull their titles from the sale or have sudden ‘integration problems’.
I kind of hate myself, but I gave in and installed the Epic launcher in order to buy & play Outer Wilds.
I guess it could be worse. I could be an addict or a republican or something…

Yeah, I had $35 set aside to pick up Metro Exodus on EGS, and now that Outer Wilds is looking so fantastic, I was thinking about that as well.
But GOG picked a great time to run their sale, so instead, I picked up a bunch of games from my wishlist there. Epic has a lot of stuff I want and for very reasonable prices at the moment, but GOG is where my heart is, and GOG’s current sale is really, really good, at least for me and the boatload of nostalgia games still on my list (along with a couple of newer games that showed up there recently).
That said,
I get paid one more time before their sale ends, so I might still be able to pick up one of those games I mentioned from EGS.

Installed the Epic store. Why did it want to install .Net Framework 3.5? I said no, because I thought that wasn’t needed for Windows 10?
They probably didn’t care because they also support Windows 8.1 (and 7?) and the installer does nothing to your system if you already have it.

Did one of the recent updates to the launcher toggle Start with Windows option? EGS has been starting with my PC for the last few days and it didn’t used to do that.
It’s “always” (well, as far as I can remember) done that for me. I’ve been getting one time Windows 10 notifications that Game X is free every two weeks since all the way back to Oxenfree or Thimbleweed Park.
Epic Trello looks like it was recently updated, cloud saves move to July.
from the Outer Wilds thread…
@Lunarstorm: Do we know this? By buying Outer Wilds you first and formost support Epic (and their strategy). You help making their deal with the developers being profitable/worthwhile. The developers got paid already or will get paid no matter what. The product was sold already. Epic bought it (somehow).
…those 88% might kick in at some point. But in terms of supporting the developers I doubt your logic fits as easily as you make it sound.
If I’m understanding you right, this is true for retail to some extent (stores buy the product then resell it to consumers), but not for digital sales.
I think what the original post was pointing out is that Epic gives a larger cut of the price to the developers than Steam does, which is definitely true. So buying Outer Wilds from there clearly supports both Mobius and Epic.
