Soda is bad for you, and everyone should stop drinking it. :)

Yep. No value at all, but we all have our vices. I, for one, was quite pleased to get Pepsi cheap at Costco.

I misread then - I read that as “it didn’t make the news” but apparently this happened long enough ago that I didn’t see it/forgot about it. I agree that yes, people do care about brand (and anyone who says Coke and Pepsi taste the same is crazy).

Only in the USA. It’s so bloody annoying hearing this crap over and over and over. It became more expensive in the EU/Australia and other markets when pulled from Steam and moving on to EGS.

Some of you seem to think the whole world is the USA.

I can see how it would read that way. It totally made news.

I take it that Metro Exodus is now more expansive in Europe, compared to other AAA titles? Or are we just talking about the pre orders?

Could just be a sign of the times though. Like Russia, the US is going down to toilet, so publisher are starting to realize they need to sell their games cheaper in the US. Think of it as a compliment of the European buying power! You guys get cheap proscription drugs and we get cheap video games. Fair deal?

Wait, isn’t Australia game pricing always really high compared to the US and Europe? Like, 20 or 30 dollars more? Even on steam? Why would you even bring up Australia?

Fair enough; I disagree with those assumptions, and yes, if I was drinking soda (which I pretty much don’t now) I’d get water if they didn’t have what I wanted. I know that if I go out for dinner and there’s no beer I want on tap, I will eschew beer entirely. I also don’t interchange games of a genre really, but that’s just me.

Soda is not a big part of what they sell at Costco, either; given that you’re probably there for a butt-ton of carrots or a gigabox of cereal or something, Coke might not be really a factor.

(Just to clarify, Nesrie is saying it did make the news. And that’s because people did care and were not indifferent.)

Ah, ok. Well, I think the Costco here is probably not representative, then, because no one buys soda here. In Vermont, though, no one buys soda anyhow it seems.

Vermont is famous for much tastier unhealthy treats. Like Ice Cream.

The Costco / Coke example was strictly given as an example of people caring about brands, and that was only provided because we had someone come in here, essentially say Pepsi and Coke are interchangeable and no one ever cares about brands anyway… which is not true.

I don’t believe anyone claimed that ‘no one ever cares about brands’.

To me, Pepsi and Coke are 100% interchangeable. That’s just me. I don’t do brand loyalty and I am very price/quality/value sensitive.

Blasphemy! Coke and Pepsi are interchangeable only to heathens and the taste-disabled.

It’s called a “rum & Coke” after all. Not “rum & Pepsi!”

I prefer amaretto.

I agree that Pepsi and Coke are very different, but I know people (perhaps taste disabled!) who don’t differentiate between colas.

It’s in reply to the total crap you keep posting on here with facts that are incorrect. You seem comfortable making stuff up to support your point, waffle inanely and seem clueless on the points you are trying to make.

You need to come to the UK and join either the Brexit party or the remainers party, your line of guff would suit both perfectly.

Now I shall shuffle back to the silent majority, maybe you could help this thread by doing the same.

Silent Majority? That is a loaded phrase in the US, and many have come to associate it with the opposite of what you think it means, mostly due to over use by the Republican Party in the US.

But back to the topic on hand. I disagree that I am pushing any crap. The majority of the people on this forum (although, obviously not everyone) lives in the US, and see US prices. The discussion seems to be mostly from a US point of view, so talking about the price of a game in the US seems to be reasonable.

That games have regional prices is a known fact though. Games in Russian are usually a lot cheaper then the US or Europe, while Games in Australia tend to be much more expansive. In this one case, this game is cheaper in the US then it is in Europe. It’s a bit of a fluke, but it still means a sizable portion of the gaming community has seen a discount on this game. Perhaps it is not universal, but it’s a start.

Anyway, this discussion has gone off course for some reason.

Oh, quick question, what is the cost of World War Z in the UK? That was the other example of games being cheaper already. Although, I still contend that cheaper prices won’t be realized until more games are sold outside of Steam.

And i agree with ya!

Straight or with something? I can actually stomach Amaretto as a cordial or something, even though I rarely drink that sort of thing.
