Tetris Effect is beautiful to look at and listen to, and is a good Tetris game, as long as you don’t care about the lack of competitive multiplayer. I totally recommend it.
To me, Hades is a steal for 10 bucks, and I’d have bought it at Christmas for that price of I thought I’d ever make it past Megara (first boss). The game just oozes quality. Try watching a gameplay vid, if you haven’t already.
Seconded. I bought it with my remaining coupon and love it. No bugs, no issues so far. Doesn’t show any signs of being early access, about 6 hours (and a lot of deaths) in.
Tetris Effect is also great in VR.
I bought Hades yesterday. Tetris Effect will have to wait until a deeper sale.
Looks like Industries of Titan will be $29.99. Should drop around 11AM Eastern.
Roadmap:
Razgon
6566
Hasnt this been in development for quite a while? Looks great though, but that is a LOT of “Planned” features.
Yep! I am not super clear on what is actually implemented yet.
I bought it one year ago and still haven’t played it! I’m waiting for the final version…
Ha hah hah I was thinking more or less the same “wait a moment, if that’s the future content… what is implemented now??”
Asked on their discord:
City Building
Rebel Ship Attacks
Initial Power System
Zen mode
Hardcore mode
Looks great, but its like half that game is coming soon on that list. :)
Yep, I think it is firmly in the buy to use up the voucher and then ignore for a few months camp for me.
RE: Titans of Industry… hahaha, it’s Industries of Titan!
At the risk of sounding snarky and/or exposing my complete ignorance, is there a game here at this point? Or is this one of those EA games you buy and play a year later?
Looks like the embargo is over
I wasn’t sure where to discuss this game, since it probably doesn’t deserve its own thread.
There’s a free game on Epic Store this week called Wheels of Aurelia. I really love the concept. You’re driving along the road, and your character, the driver, and the passenger are having a conversation. And sometimes the passenger is telling you to drive faster to get there fast, and you’re also making conversation choices while you’re driving and trying not to hit traffic.
It’s such a fantastic idea for an adventure game. But I was really disappointed with the implementation. The car driving kind of sucks, and the interface for choosing dialog is confusing too. Such a shame. I hope this game hasn’t ruined the chances of someone else taking this great idea and actually making a good game with it.
I’m with you on this one. I really wanted to like it, but you’re right that the interfaces don’t work so well. And also I found that once I did get okay at them, the story branching just didn’t make it easy to find new stories or conclusions without a lot of repetition and/or confusion.
When I worked at a company making narrative adventure games, I spent awhile trying to pitch a game about driving while having conversations. It seemed like driving cross-country, where you don’t need to do a lot of turning or navigating but you do need to keep the car on the road, could be the perfect thing to occupy your hands while you listen to stories and make occasional choices of what to say. Never got any traction with it. That year at GDC, I talked to one of the people who made Neo-Cab. Apparently that was where they started with their game… then they found it was impossible for people to do both. Granted, they’re set in an urban environment.
I get a fully blank screen when I start my Epic Launcher.
I tried restarting. It’s been like that since yesterday. Is there something I can do to fix this?
Exit it fully, then delete the folder located at C:\Users\<Your windows id>\AppData\Local\EpicGamesLauncher\Saved\webcache and restart it.
