I think this week I just hit 60 games. I haven’t played a single one.
I wanted to see which ones were coop or MP, so went into the library and the only option I had was to install the game if I clicked on it. So to get actual info on the game in my library, I had to go to the store page and search for the game. Gah!
Me too. I’m scooping up all the free games, even when I already own them on steam, but I’ve never actually played anything on Epic, let alone installed anything. The entire game for me here is just collecting free games.

Not me. I’ve spent hours playing the free Sherlock Holmes game that appeared a few weeks ago on Epic. I’m really enjoying it. I’ve also played Into the Breach on Epic, again acquired for free. On top of that, I plan to buy and play the heck out of Old World on May 5th. I guess there are reasons I’m supposed to hate Epic, but I like it.
I did until I installed Kingdom Come: Deliverance, ended up playing a bit in EGS as well.
Still, most of the time I just fire it up to grab the freebies, then shutting it down again.
One thing I really hate about the UI is this:
I might want to click the name of the title to see details of the game (i.e. what did I actually “buy”, since I cant remember what the game is…) but instead it launches it, and I have to go aaaaaaall the way over to the breadcrumb menu on the right side to get this:

Ignoring the fact that it has a totally different colour scheme, that is the only way to see “details” on the game you have.
I much prefer the Steam view of games with a short list on the left, doubleclick to launch, single-click to get the game “dashboard” with everything collected about the game (and your interaction with it).
Like this:
Yeah, I guess the one thing we all can agree on is that the Epic Games Store UI is dogshit.
Personally, I tried WWZ of the freebies, but I’ve also played some of the f2p games on there, like Magic the Gathering and The Cycle (kinda fun PvEvP shooter but sadly none of my friends want to even try it).
Agree. I do buy games on Epic and grab freebies. I think its a net good platform which I enjoy, but they really need to work on fundamentals.
I think Epic with its resources should be able to provide a better or comparable service to UbiSoft, or EA or even Itch.io.
Right now its worse than all of those. They need to invest in sorting and managing games plus elegant downloads.
Death Coming is the free game for this week, and next week’s is a mystery!
Oh wow, I totally forgot about Epic Game Store. Thanks for the reminder. Did I miss something last week?
Edit: Looks like I missed out on Amnesia Dark Descent (which I already own on Steam), and Crashlands. Crashlands looks to have very positive reviews on Steam, but not too many reviews. It must not be super popular, since no one here mentioned it as a freebie, which is why I missed it.
Crashlands is good. Started as a mobile game and has been ported to the PC. I haven’t played the PC version so not sure how well it translates to PC.

I’ve only played the PC version and I enjoyed it thoroughly. I never would have guessed it was a mobile game first.
Anyone has seen Before We Leave in Epic Store? It says it’s free, but when trying to Get it, you have to pay 18 euro’s.
I saw that Before We Leave was listed as free. It just released today so it seems like a screwup to list it as free.
If you add it to cart, it is 19.99
Oh snap. The rumor is GTAV is the next free game on EGS.
I don’t believe that rumor… it’s still in the top 10 sellers on Steam.
That would be a cool surprise though. I’m one of the dozens who don’t own it, and forgot to download it before it left gamepass this week.
Shark Cards is where the money is at.
Edit: I meant, Shark Cards and no singleplayer DLCs ever again.

I’d be surprised if it was GTA5 for the reason Gigglemoo mentioned, buuuuuuut… wouldn’t rule it out yet. A buttload of cash from Epic and a big influx of new players for GTA Online might be something Rockstar is willing to go for. After all, GTA Online is where the money’s at these days.
Is it just a rumor? Epic accidentally put up an ad stating that it was GTA V.

Damn, I’ve already double-dipped on that one. Can’t they give away RDR2 instead?
Nice! I never double dipped on GTA V, and was enjoying it on Game Pass on and off.
