Hey y’all, how are ya? I’m writing because I wanted to know from folks who’ve had Blu-ray players longer than I have, which Blu-rays – either movies or TV shows – do you consider essential? This is not just from a standpoint of audio and visual quality, but also extras, if applicable.
I’ve become something of a Blu-ray snob in the year since getting one, and don’t even really consider getting DVD movies anymore. I mean hell, I just purchased the Criterion Days of Heaven Blu-ray, having never seen the movie, just on the basis of reviews from DVD Talk and Blu-ray.com, because it apparently looks amazing. I also recently purchased The Thin Red Line for the same reason, also never having seen it. ;)
So yeah, please list me what y’all think are essential Blu-rays to own. :) If I had to suggest some, mine would be:
2001: A Space Oddysey
Blade Runner
District 9
The Godfather Trilogy
The Incredibles (or any Pixar movie, really)
Legend of the Guardians (seriously, this looks FUCKING AMAZING)
Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World
Star Trek from 2009
