So sad we are bit by bit losing those among us who walked on another world.

RIP.

There is a really well done documentary on Netflix called Last Man on the Moon about him. A lot of old Gemini and Apollo footage.

Another hero gone.

If somebody had told me in July 1969 that the computers and communication of Star Trek would be a reality within 50 years, but a putting a man on Mars would still be SciFi, I would have thought they were crazy. With today’s death of Gene Cernan, one of the youngest of the remaining six men who have walked on the moon, it’s looking like they’ll all be dead before we get there.

I’m watching Last Man on the Moon again tonight.

I always had a special place in my heart for Mike Collins. He was the guy who stayed in orbit in Apollo 11. Cernan was the other one that I liked. Extraordinary people.
