Even “smart” people fall prey to pyramid schemes

An actuary in a real government financial
services type sector I previously worked with is now “reaching” out to every single ex-colleague to flog the pyramid scheme of World Financial Services/Primerica.”

Must be the pandemic desperation—it’s a shame since I liked them as a person.

Do you suspect this person is being foolish, or are they just cynically seeing a shot at making some $$$ of their friends/family who aren’t savvy enough to know better?

Well that’s thinking even more poorly of them if they are intentionally trying to be at the top of the pyramid.

A lot of people in these honestly believe you’re already paying for this stuff so you might as well switch to them, and then that you might as well get paid to shop by joining their “organization.” Delusional, of course. I get angry thinking about the thousands of dollars some acquaintances have wasted on this kind of thing.

I hate their cult-like brainwashing techniques. Lost a friend last decade to WFG.
