Failing Trump administration. Sad!

There’s an intriguing but ultimately kind of dumb movie called Desierto, about Mexican immigrants sneaking across the border who get stalked by an armed racist. It’s a horror movie about the US told from the perspective of Mexico. It was made before Trump secured the nomination, but Trump’s “immigrants are racists” comments are what earned it distribution in the US.

When characters are Sharing Their Backstories, the lead character explains that he’s trying to get back into the US to his family, because was deported after being pulled over for a broken taillight. In Oakland. Riiiight. Way to do your homework, screenwriter!

Err, isn’t it “aspersions?” Speech to text strikes again?

Doh! Fixed.

I’m behind on the thread, but…uh. Okay. Let’s just ignore the last, idk, century of American legislation because states’ rights.

Have we gotten to “taxation is theft” yet? Someone DM me when it happens if not.

I thought it was funnier the other way.

What do you mean by this post? It’s a relatively new development in law. From Washington post :

“Nor can the federal government do indirectly — by threatening to withdraw federal funding from states — what it cannot do directly. In National Federation of Independent Business v. Sebelius, in 2012, the Supreme Court struck down a provision of the Affordable Care Act that required states to expand their Medicaid programs or lose the state’s federal Medicaid money. The court found the condition that Congress placed on states’ Medicaid funding unduly coercive and thus a violation of the 10th Amendment.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/trump-cant-force-sanctuary-cities-to-enforce-his-deportation-plans/2016/12/22/421174d4-c7a4-11e6-85b5-76616a33048d_story.html?utm_term=.14f15e1bdc6e

Republicans care so very much about the rights of people that vote for them. Until they don’t. And they care not at all about the people who would never vote for them. And I’ll go out on a limb here and say that Democrats care about those that would vote for them and those that wouldn’t. Because they care about people in general. And that’s the problem with Democrats. They aren’t scumbags. And they can’t act like scumbags in general. If they could they wouldn’t need Republicans to destroy their credibility in a firestorm of shit to get elected and gain power in the house and the senate.

blahrg

While I agree that as a whole the Democrats run on a platform of caring for people in general, plenty of them have turned out to be scumbags of one form or another.

And your point is?

Well Rich specifically said they aren’t scumbags and that is definitely wrong.

I still agree whole heartedly with the overall spirit of his message though.

Upon a second reading I would certainly walk back the absolutist phrase ‘They aren’t scumbags.’ Let’s say to a lesser extent than Republicans.

Republican voters are willing to take risks/setbacks as long as their opponents suffer more than they do, on average. It’s a longer game they’re playing.

Stupider, anyway.

From hell’s heart, they stab at thee.

Jesus Christ. Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Green Party, Socialist, Tory, Whig, I don’t care. Can we get rid of this international embarrassment of a President yet? What a snivelling, cowardly, slimy buffoon. Can we all agree on that?

I’d bring W back for a third term if it would get rid of Trump.

They can (IMO) always pack up shop and move to Europe if things get too bad. They basically have TWICE the resources that Liberals have. (I think Europeans would roll over if it came to that.)

I’m still waiting for you to reply to Timex’s post. Did you forget?
