It depends on how the question is framed, I suppose. “Are you in favor of secure borders?” Um, sure. Why not? “Are you in favor of a wall to secure our border with Mexico?” Of course not. It’s a ridiculous idea.
Maybe I am reading too much into it, but I think he sees it as a vote-defining issue, especially since the article refers to a planned series of enforcement actions leading up to the midterms.

You don’t think CLOSE THE BORDERS and BUILD THE WALL were vote defining?
Not for 90% of the population in favor, no. The implication here is by keeping this issue in the news cycle, that they will win more votes. That certainly seems to fly in the face of the 66% disapproval on separating families, but as the article mentions, that situation is focusing a lot of eyeballs on th broader issue of immigration.
As you will see in the next election, 92% of the voting population supports Trump.
Wondering if the implication is the council might be intending to issue some sort of statement about the border separations?
The Reuters article implies that will be the reason given, but there’s also this:
High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad al-Hussein on Monday called on Washington to halt its “unconscionable” policy.
The timing is curious, but could be coincidence.
America is pretty much on its way to become the newest member of the Axis of Evil.
Pretty good litmus test for the soul of America, that.
I’m sure we’ll pass with flying colors as we did in November 2016.
For a second I read that as High Commissioner Zod.
Now I’m disappointed.

This is not the reassurance we are looking for.

She is lying. I make that claim based on her daily lies since taking the job. The burden of proof that what she says is the truth now falls on her. So yes, she is lying again.
At this point I’m really hard pressed to figure out what Trump would be doing differently if he was an actual Manchurian candidate tasked with destroying the American brand. Obviously you start with withdrawing from all kinds treaties and global agreements. Insulting allies and praising dictators. Starting a trade war is also pretty obvious as is attacking US governmental agencies.
Embracing neo-nazi and white supremacist, less so. But putting immigrant children in cages that’s really inspired.
And they both subscribe(d) to the principle of “keep repeating a lie loudly enough, and people will believe it.”
Miller has a chin at least, but he’s got the dead eyes going.
