So who is the devil we don’t know scenario?
Stephen Miller, noted piece of shit despised by his own family, is the last man standing.
The head of the Secret Service just resigned. Trump to start his own SS is five, four, three, two …

I have no idea if this is real or not.
EDIT:
Seems that it is in fact real.
Be advised, the head of the Secret Service reported to the Sec. of Homeland Security, apparently. (I had thought that they were part of the Tresury department).
I’m sure QT3’s resident economic anxieters will be here any second to tell us why it’s OK that one of the largest armed forces in the country are being co-opted into a personal army by a dictator wannabe.
Me too – post-9/11 reorg, maybe?
the night of the long tweets
Yep, it was shuffled over in 2003 with the creation of Homeland Security.
Hey, remember when “Homeland” security seemed like an ominous moniker, like all of a sudden the land of the free was into names like Motherland or Fatherland, and those had dubious historical precedents?
Now it would just be nice if HS had some leadership.

It seems like having a skeleton crew manning DHS and the Secret Service is something that our enemies like China and Russia would love.
No puppet, you’re the puppet.
Getting ever closer to having zero government departments with a secretary or department head. Bedazzling competence on the part of the executive office.

Due to obstruction by Democrats!
I just read about all this myself. One of my favorite parts of the CNN article I read:
Secret Service officials have been caught by surprise with the news and are only finding out through CNN, according to the source.
Yea, that figures.
A source familiar with the director said his ouster was not related to the recent scrutiny the Secret Service got after a Chinese woman illegally entered the President’s Mar-a-Lago club carrying Chinese passports and a flash drive containing malware.
Just five days ago, Trump said he “could not be happier with Secret Service” following the Mar-a-Lago incident.
“There is a near-systematic purge happening at the nation’s second-largest national security agency,” one senior administration official says.
Well, that’s Mitch’s angle. Bannon would probably say it’s all part of the desired “deconstruction of the administrative state.”

What amazes me about Trump supporters is how the just do not give even one fuck about any of these poor folks who actually work for Trump in these various departments, who keep only finding out about any of this crap by seeing it on twitter or the news.
Can you imagine the outrage, deserved, which would have happened if Obama fired someone over twitter? It would have been nuts.
But they just give Trump a pass for behavior that they previously would have considered unthinkable.

Trump found the secret to getting rid of all the agencies that Ron Paul said he’d axe:
Just fire everyone and never replace them until the building is empty.
Alexadra Petri, nailing it as per usual.
The terrible thing you saw was only the dangling glowing protuberance on the head of the immense submerged monster you did not see. Keep that in mind going forward as you decide whether Kirstjen Nielsen should be welcome in restaurants or on cable news.
Truly, truly there was no one more appalled by what Trump was asking the Department of Homeland Security to do than she was, which is why she only implemented the really heinous parts when she felt that a show of force was necessary to impress him and keep her job (that she might better continue to resist).
As she reluctantly leaves this post she fought to stay in, putting the bodies of others on the line (to resist), sources can safely reveal she was probably, no, definitely, the most disgusted of anyone by what Trump wanted. That was why she was frequently seen holding her nose as she implemented it.
