I’m not so sure that every Trump appointee will get confirmed as Kavanaugh did. Kavanaugh represented a major win for the hard right wing of the GOP both culturally and economically. A Trump-sycophant DHS Secretary or Defense Secretary does not necessarily represent the same win for the hard right in the Senate GOP. Just b/c Trump is insanely popular with his base doesn’t mean the internal faultlines within the GOP don’t exist. For example, a DHS Secretary willing to “close the border” at Trump’s instructions is not someone every member of the Senate GOP wants. And note, that doesn’t make them good guys, it just makes them non-asshat-idiots-who-are-still-bad-guys.

Yeah, Cornyn isn’t talking about Trump being embarrassed when his nominees are rejected, he’s talking about Republicans being embarrassed when they have to confirm an obviously flawed nominee.

Two is a distressingly low number, frankly.

Or just as often, they’re already rich so they don’t give a fuck.

It was a hobby or they got the position to change the rules so they can make more money after they leave by whatever means they were using before they got the job.

I’m looking forward to DeVos’ turn. Grima may be last worm standing.

Switching over to the Trump’s tax returns, requested legally by a Congressional Committee: of course the DNE is telling the same old lie about how since they’re under audit he can’t show them.
This has to be the Dems’ simple campaign slogan till November 2020: “Trump’s tax returns: What is he hiding?” Easy to remember and put on a bumper sticker.

He’s not hiding anything. He’s owning the libs.

Would that it were so simple! People should really be asking that question but his supporters simply don’t care. But Harris or Buttgieg or whoever ends up on top for the Democrats better damn well produce their birth certificates and 20 years of tax returns or the media will be all over it.

We don’t need to convince the Alex Jones-watching unpersuadables, just peel enough people off to beat him in 2020.

When Trump’s 1040s don’t include “axe-murdered twenty people” on line 7A, everyone will scream EXONERATION

Note that he doesn’t say anything about Kobach’s policies or views, just his rhetoric. Need to implement all the shit policies but also need to whisper sweetly about it in order to get their way.

There is no bottom.

Maybe Trump will nominate the Papa John’s asshole next.

JFC.
