I don’t think anything will come of it, since the former GOP/ current Trump party doesn’t care what DJT does in office, criminal or not, and the Trump cultists would cheer if he called Russia the evil empire and cheer an hour later if he said the exact opposite.
But it’s more evidence, like more is required, that DJT doesn’t give a shit about American interests, and is all in on DJT interests no matter where that leads. And this stuff does matter to many people outside the Trump cult.

Buzz is that this might be tied to the ongoing attempts to get the government of Ukraine to investigate Biden. President of the Ukraine is on the list of foreign officials he was talking to in the relevant timeframe, and we know Giulianni was working that angle earlier this year.

Again, I think folks need to keep in mind that the inspector general apparently considered this to be an urgent matter. That means it’s not merely “trump said dumb stuff”. Because Trump saying dumb stuff isn’t illegal. The IG isn’t making calls on whether something is offensive, or respectable.
The IG is making calls on whether something is in violation of the law, right?

No clue. They talk about it as though it is very serious but I don’t know of examples when it happened before so I have no correlation of that makes something worthy of reporting by the IG. Are we talking treason level? Just lying? Could be damaging for the country? I have no scale here. I also don’t hold much faith that it will impact Teflon Don’s chances of impeachment, sadly.
