That was fucking quick. Turkey just rolled over us. Nice. Hope our troops had time to get out, because they started shooting PDQ. Otherwise Trump just endangered American servicemen lives, for real this time.

I haven’t seen it corroborated on any western media outlets I’m familiar with, so I’m still hoping for fake news.

Jerusalem Post is reporting this also. Trump lost a lot of goodwill in Israel over this move as well, they are following very closely.

The Art Of The Deal… indeed. What a charlatan.
OK, now it all make sense. This was Donnie’s birthday present for his boss.

I hate to sound paranoid, but it sounds like he’s trying to do everything he can for Russia before he gets impeached. This is insane.
Is he going to flee there to avoid prison!? That would be crazy…

Probably, since there is a chance he won’t be able to do this next October 7th.

Well, America had an OK run. Sure, we fucked up a lot, but we could be pretty good white hats when the situation demanded it.
RIP America 1776-2016.

No man. Down but not out.
Nah the country is done. Our institutions and laws are tissue paper that wouldn’t withstand a strong wiping. It’s only a matter of time before we enact a full blown police state from the nascent one we currently enforce, then the resources run out, the temperatures rise and the nukes fly. Knowing the ending doesn’t ruin the story I guess so go forth and live it up.

I can understand and appreciate the fatalism, trust me. Yet going forth and living it up in forced apathy will do nothing for us. It’s not as if the situation looked much rosier for people in labour unions in the late 1800s, or African Americans during their agitation for civil rights, or for Brit soldiers in the UK when Hitler invaded Poland. It’s not only future generations that is relying on us to try, but also every other species with which we share a home.
The chief planet destroyers all want us to give up and resign ourselves to our fate. Even if all that we can achieve with our political activism is to make the lives of the rich a bit less convenient then it will be a job well done.
Anyway, that’s my lame pep talk for the day, which I force myself to write because I need it more than most!

I spent the day with a room full of Syrian physicians. Their take is that Turkey wants to push enough into Syria to create a buffer and to force the Kurds into the same geography as the non-Kurdish Syrians, igniting another angle on the civil war, leading the Syrians to wipe each other out. The also said that years ago, the non-Kurdish Syrians very strongly and repeatedly told the Kurds not to ally with the US, but were ignored. Meanwhile, Syria, Russia, and Iran are carpet bombing areas long evacuated, trying to obliterate any remaining infrastructure, in an effort to make much of the country uninhabitable. Iran just wants to open up an uncontested trade corridor to Lebanon.
The guy is a Russian agent. It’s obvious.
While I don’t care for the “agent” tag, he sure as hell is getting played like a fiddle by pretty much every leader he comes across, and Russia has been able to take advantage of his idiocy better than the rest.
