I’m not 100% convinced that Lindsay is gay. He certainly could be, and Trump having dirt on him would explain his bizzare relationship with Trump. My money is that Lindsay really believes that he is the Trump whisperer like he has said in the past and that by being nice to Trump, he believed he could influence him on things like military policy. You do wonder about how long this delusion will continue.

Well his trump whispering has never worked. So apparently he’s still in delusions. About more than just one thing.
He claimed that it had on somethings, keeping Trump from doing some stupid things. Obviously compared to the stupid shit Trump has done it is no where near enough.

Somehow I doubt this. Can’t say why.
Yeah, the moment to plunge the knife in was last week when Trump betrayed the Kurds and set the wheels in motion to free all of the ISIS prisoners. There is ample grounds for impeachment and Trump made one of the worst foreign policy mistakes in history on an issue that Graham particularly cares about. If he was going to turn in Trump, that was the moment. He is not going to turn on Trump.

Yeah Graham is, to use a phrase from the military, fully committed. OTOH when things get really bad, I expect him to bite his own head off in anger.
Never not a shit show: international ed.

Jesus christ, it’s like an 8 year old putting a worm and snail into a box expecting them to have sex.

When your National Security Adviser steps into something he knows nothing about…
“You wanna meet your son’s killer and hug her on TV?”
“No thanks, nincompoop.”
I’d have said yes and then got the missus to deck the c**t on camera.

I shouldn’t have to explain this (and I’m sure everyone here knows), but diplomatic immunity is only supposed to be invoked if the offending diplomat is not familiar with the local laws and customs of the country, or they are vastly different than ours. This prevents a diplomat from being detained for say, wearing the color red or not wearing a headscarf or giving the wrong handshake to a local chief.
This idiot did a hit and run on a kid (well, she hit and stayed, then fled questioning). And she’s not even the diplomat, but his wife. There is no excuse that she didn’t know this was illegal. Send her back to face the piper. This is the worst misuse of diplomatic immunity since Lethal Weapon 2.
If you squint really hard you can blame the different-sides-of-the-road thing. To be clear, I agree with your take, but I’m not sure that it’s clear cut enough for everyone to agree. It’s easy to believe you can know that they drive on the left and yet forget for a moment when you pull onto a new road or whatever.

Ok, but they FLED. Explain that to the police/in court. Circumstances and intent matter.

The US Embassy told them to leave the country. That was a stupid thing for the US Embassy to do, but it’s not on the Sacoolas.

Fair enough. Poorly handled all around.
If you were DUI, for example, it may be better to flee the scene and avoid a blood alcohol test.

I don’t think this is the case. Diplomatic immunity applies by default, unless revoked by the home country. It is not meant to help diplomats who are ignorant of local laws (a diplomat should certainly understand local laws better than a tourist, who lacks immunity). It is meant to prevent hosts from applying pressure by threatening diplomats. It also stops hosts from gaining a negotiating advantage by searching a diplomat’s property.
No. Don’t commit a felony by fleeing. Stay and refuse to take the breathalyzer. You will probably lose your license for a year but that may be a better result than a DUI. IANAL disclaimer.
