The second he appoints a pro-choice judge they will turn against him, which is why that will be never. They are single-issue voters and there is no sense in trying to get them to vote for a Democrat.

They literally say that God sent an awful man to do his great work. They know he’s a terrible person, but as long as he keeps sending anti-abortion judges to the courts, they are fine with it.

They reject science and say that faith means rejecting reality in order to believe things based on nothing. It’s no wonder they can do the same for another thing they are told to like.

I’m wondering what that would look like though. My guess is that many would just not vote, versus support another candidate. Maybe that would lend credence to another R on the ballot though.

Again, hefty surprise.

This is why I’m of the opinion that the only way to get rid of Trump voters is to get rid of Fox News first.

… hmm this movie is really violent! I’m probably on a watch list now for posting it.

The hypocrisy is overwhelming, because Trump pretty much meets all the criteria for the Antichrist.

They’re already prepared for that eventuality. Their support for Israel stems from their belief that Israel must rise and be destroyed to bring on the end times. Easy enough to fit ‘evil Trump’ into that same worldview. “It is necessary for evil Trump to rise to bring on Armageddon, so I support him.”

Isn’t that just a bonus for evangelicals? That Trump is a sign of the End Times?

Apparently Greg Sargent is stunned on a daily basis that water is wet.

He’s not the anti-Christ and thus not the sign of anything related to the End TImes.

Oh, we all know that, but it’s amazing what people will delude themselves into in order to avoid fulfilling the “love your neighbor” part of Jesus’ teachings. Which is exactly what evangelicals voting for Trump are doing. “Trump is terrible but he’s doing God’s work by appointing judges that won’t let gays live like regular folks and cracking down on abortion, so we should vote for him and if that hastens the world going down the tubes so Jesus comes back sooner, all the better.”

Yeah I don’t know how they can reconcile those two because there is no asterisk on any scripture that says except when you really want a supreme court judge or except your terrified of just the idea of minorities doing to you what you did to them, except when you work for coal… and the list goes on and on.

Religious people of all types get good at focusing on the parts of their religious texts they like and tuning out the parts they don’t.

There was a particularly powerful scene in West Wing about this.

So they’re in the “deny the guy is leaving while we find his replacement” phase, I guess.

Right now Jared is all, “so you’re telling me there’s a chance!”

I hear Lou Dobbs’ music

Trump has to be a bit careful though.

Mulvaney is not only the acting Chief of Staff, he’s also the Director of the OMB and the acting Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

And they’re running out of people willing to work in the White House.

Yeah they pick and choose bludgeons to go after their political opponents with while comfortably avoiding anything they don’t like in their lives. It’s not… good and it’s hugely hypocritical.
