This isn’t his book, is it? I thought it was written by an aide, and he was not pleased with it.
Mattis believed that he could do more good by just keeping things running correctly, against the president’s crazy orders, as long as possible.
Seeing what is happening now that he’s gone, he was probably right, and probably kept things from going off the rails for a while.

Yes, definitely the right thing to do when you find out the president is an insane, ignorant, unethical narcissist is keep quiet and make sure he stays in office as long as possible.
Yup he was covering up impeachable offenses I don’t think that reflects well on him.
Especially considering the stuff he’s said about Obama, who did nothing impeachable …it’s a monstrous and partisan double standard.

Mattis cares about the men and women in the military, and the country.
Him saying stuff about Trump doesn’t move the needle. Trump’s supporters don’t care, and Trump’s detractors already know it. Him leaving earlier would have served no purpose.
