I thought we were talking about user IDs

I’m not sure if you’re being purposefully obtuse or there’s some joke you’re making I’m not in on?
The ID was on a deleted ID list. It was bogus. It’s James T. Kirk, Captain of the Enterprise on Star Trek. It’s an example of bad/programmer/testing data.
Neither. I hadn’t made the connection with the Wakanda thing earlier. Sorry. Travel day yesterday. Brain still not engaged I guess.
That seems somehow redundant.

It’s a reference to a certain Trek novel.
Not sure where to put this, but it’s real/official.

You know, I’ve never been a Republican, or cared much for any political party, but I did think that my Republican friends, by and large, were principled in areas like budget. The number of them who have come out biting when I’ve mentioned Trump’s insane spending (and I typically critique each person the same) showed me that this hasn’t been true for many of them.
While I’m not on FB at the moment, back when I was, I did get a few sympathetic messages from (ex?) Republican friends who feel that Trump is doing so much wrong, but most of them said they didn’t want to “start fights” with people. It’s crazy how much some have latched on to his style and thrown out any things they (claimed) to hold dear.
Anyway, a good article:

Hmmm, is “closer” accurate? I wonder if we’re not already there.
I don’t think Trump is going to be an aberration. He didn’t get elected and then people realized what a big disaster he was once in office. One in three voters venerate him and he may well be re-elected, despite the open corruption he’s engaged in. Republicans aren’t looking at the Chelsea Clinton tweet investigation and shaking their heads, I’m sure they approve.
I guess I’m just wondering if we’re already there and are just having difficulty admitting it to ourselves.
Closer? Seriously - my conclusion from the past few months following the impeachment trial is that:
a) The US is already a Banana Republic. Seriously, what else to call it, when the “jury” in the President’s trial openly states that they plan to coordinate with the accused to exonerate him.
b) Not enough Americans care about it to matter.
This one may have escaped from the 'What Could Go Wrong?" thread.
To be a banana republic, a powerful outside actor needs to have overrides and final say over decisions in the government. Where’s the United Fruit and United States Marines in this comparison? A little Russian money seems weak. Is the author just trying to find a synonym for ‘shithole country’?
Our corruption is home-made.
Wow, and this is a person who has presumably got a college degree and isn’t a twenty-something. That’s like referring to Chairman Dong instead of Chairman Mao.
[BTW, Gboard just autocorrected Chairman Mao to Chairman Map. rolleyes]
HOW’S IT GOIN’, HOT STUFF??
