Years, ago I invested in two startup companies that were collecting cellphone location to help retail business compete with online stories. It was always a bit creepy, but it seems pretty benign. One of the companies is out of business in no small part because of Europe data privacy laws, and Apple’s clamping down on selling iPhone customer data.

The other company is doing ok, but it has taken a very dark turn. They embedded their tracking technology with other apps like games, and weather. First, the had a big contract with Homeland security to use their technology at airports. But the last couple of contracts they have gotten from Homeland security, the press releases were a model of obfuscation.

On the off chance, I make any money from these guys, I think I need to donate it to somebody like the Electronic Frontier Foundation

Oh, that will totally make it better.

You pick weird fights sometimes, my dude. :)

Sometimes I wish we could disable sarcasm in P&R.

That sounds like a great idea!

Best idea ever!

Yes, I do. Sigh.

Don’t sweat it Don Q. Tilt at those fuckin’ windmills. Screw them. :)

Leopards. Faces. Etc.

Sounds like someone needs to take personal responsibility for how he voted in 2016.

Oh come on. He thought it would be someone else’s problem, disturb the “right” people, not him.

In other news, the Large Hadron Collider revealed the existence of a violin so small you would have to line up ten million of them to equal the width of a single hydrogen atom.

I wonder if Armando is taking on interns.

My bunker in the hills is stocked with enough Cracklin’ Oat Bran to ensure @ArmandoPenblade and a whole platoon of like-minded gastrotroopers can maintain the proper graveside vigils for decades to come, even in the face of societal collapse.

You guys are so funny :)

Ever put Cracklin’ Oat Bran on a PB&J? You should try it.

Enter the gastrotroopers:

Pray I don’t have to leave a garrison here.

But Mr. Barr’s actions in doing the President’s personal bidding unfortunately speak louder than his words. Those actions, and the damage they have done to the Department of Justice’s reputation for integrity and the rule of law, require Mr. Barr to resign. But because we have little expectation he will do so, it falls to the Department’s career officials to take appropriate action to uphold their oaths of office and defend nonpartisan, apolitical justice.

I take this to mean more are signing on? They were reporting 1100 or so on Saturday.

Now if they would all just march on the DoJ headquarters together.
