Twaddle. Those people are either officials or staff of executive branch agencies, with reporting lines that don’t include the VP; or they’re private citizens, over which a VP has zero authority. Pence can give orders all he wants, but no one has to follow them. The VP is not in any executive branch chain of command.

Yes, they have government jobs outside the coronavirus response team. But presumably they are interested in working on coronavirus. If they want to continue doing so in a high level capacity, they must report to Pence.
I’m pretty sure Pence can’t even boot them from the task force. Trump would have to do that. If it is Trump that is preventing them from making media appearances to blackmail media outlets / prevent them contradicting him, then it should be reported that way. Pence can’t block shit.

So, Pence’s office threatened CNN in order to get more live coverage of the experts. That request most definitely did not originate from Trump. He doesn’t care if the cameras turn off after he leaves.
But apparently Pence got what he wanted, and CNN also reduced its live Trump coverage. Never thought I’d be saying this, but thanks Pence!
