Just as “the DOW is not the economy”, support for handling this crisis is not “will or won’t vote for him”.
But lets hope.

It likely depends if it starts killing them in vast swatches, as Donald would say.

I’m in the high risk age group and I never volunteered to die to save the economy. I do not think favorably of Trump, either!

We don’t need everyone who feels that way to vote for Biden, but if it chips away at even 5% of Trump’s support it may be enough. That’s assuming we have an otherwise honest election.

DJT and his henchmen are nothing if not scrupulously honest, so no worries there.

Oh I know. Trump would cheat in a heartbeat. He’s already said if he loses it would be unfair because the virus and economy are not his fault.

If you think things are crazy now, wait until November 4th after Trump loses. The following three months are going to be absolutely bonkers.

Yeah, I’ve been worried about November for a while, with either outcome (one is obviously complete disaster for the nation). I just don’t think Trump is capable of accepting defeat and that he was less popular than the other guy. The GOP has spent many years already laying the groundwork for claims of voter fraud. If Trump loses, I’m sure that’ll be the claim. Not that it legally changes anything, but in terms of civil unrest? I don’t want to know what it looks like when Trump’s base is told that Democrats and illegal immigrants stole the election.

That’s certainly one facet of it. I think another facet is, he’s immature enough to decide that if he can’t have the Presidency, then no one can. He may try to burn it all down, figuratively. Or, as much as he can get away with.

I understand that he’ll want to reject a losing result, but I still don’t really grasp what he can actually do to prevent that result from taking effect.

He doesn’t have to prevent it from taking effect to cause damage. For my part, I’m just talking about how he can whip up his base. Both he and they will be convinced that the election is fraudulent and that it was stolen from them by “the Deep State” or immigrants or whatever. And how many of those crazies might think a “Second Amendment solution” should be on the table?

Yeah, for sure those 60-ish days will be bonkers, even by Trump standards. We already see how petulant he is as President, but how low will he stoop if he’s voted out?

Answer: all the way.

True enough, but I think that stuff happens no matter how Trump takes it.

It will be worse if he encourages it.

“STOLEN ELECTION! LIBERATE AMERICA!”

I think he might make those false claims and ludicrous threats for a few days but then back down like he always does.

I’m very much looking forward to finding out how he handles crushing defeat. If you think I’m going to dread any part of it, you be mistaken!

Yeah. At the moment I’m more concerned about how he handles a win.

“Downfall” comes to mind.

I like this news.

2016 is that way.

No way Trump would have stayed in Berlin had he been in that situation.
