Going by the NEW listings on the Fall TV schedule , nothing looks that great, I mean come on , do we really need a Hawaii 5-O remake?
HBO’s Boardwalk Empire is about the only new show this Fall that I am excited for. :S

Damn, looking at that list makes me not miss having cable.
That Outsourced comedy on NBC sounds like a terrible idea… What drugs was the exec who greenlit that on?
“Hey guys, we’re in the middle of the worst recession since the Great Depression, let’s do a comedy about American jobs being shipped to India!”
It might be funny, but it’s going to hit a bit too close to home for Middle America.
Actually, the 5-0 remake is one of the few things on the list that actually look good.
Glee and Modern Family. I’m interested in Outsourced. Trailers looked hilarious.
Worst part is they are pushing Parks and Rec to spring to give it a slot. Hope it bombs fast.
Terriers should be good.
The lead in Outsourced really looked like he was doing an impression of Jason Bateman. Kind of weird.
Parks and Recreation IS horrible, I watched the first 2 episodes and asked myself, how is this on tv, when good shoes get canned!
Rashida Jones’s hotness cannot even save the horribleness of the writing. :’(
Seriously considering dropping DirecTV, and this lineup pushes me closer. The few series we watch can either be caught on broadcast TV or a bit later on DVD/Netflix.
Running Wilde is from Will Arnett and Mitch Hurwitz, so I’ll at least check that out. And David Cross and Peter Serafinowicz are part of the cast.
David Cross also has the new series The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret premiering next month on IFC, which I believe also has Arnett in the cast (as well as Spike Jonze IIRC).
But yeah, Boardwalk Empire looks like the best thing this year far and away.
Based on FX’s track record I have high hopes for Terriers. I’ll give The Event a shot too but I don’t expect it to be good or last too long.
Poor shoes.
Never seen the show myself. Heard it was horrible, but several people swear it got better as the season(s) went on.
I hate the first few episodes of Parks and Recreation, but I started watching late last season and it really came into its own. Probably rivals 30 Rock in terms of quality (that might have to do with the decreasing returns of 30 Rock though).
Also, is just me, or does Terriers look really cheap, like a cop show with the budget of Party Down?
I’m looking forward to the new fall season to see how awfully terrible Shit My Dad Says turns out.
Also, how did Walking Dead not make that calendar?
Parks and Recreation is probably the best comedy on TV. It started weak, but if you skip to the middle of the first season, it gets better. If you just start with the beginning of the second season, it’s great.
I see, well maybe I’ll give season 2 of Parks a chance… Wasn’t the first entire season about filling in the hole in the ground?
Also I agree, and I think the Event will either be awesome or fail within the first 3 episodes.

I caught the first season on DVD and pretty much liked it by the end. Definitely recommend for anyone who likes The Office. Netflix said I would like 30 Rock so I watched the first couple episodes. I found it to be bland and unfunny. P&R is much better in my opinion.
Parks and Rec has a wonderful development. First season is good (first episode is weak but by four or so it gets pretty funny). Then season two just becomes the funniest show on TV. The cast works very well and the show feels a lot more versatile than the Office.
Blue Bloods looks promising, though the title could be better. What’s not to like about Tom Selleck?
I hated the first season (OK, first episodes, because it was quickly deleted from my TiVo’s season pass) of Parks and Rec. Gave it a chance this season based on hearing it was better, and it is much, much improved. I’ll look forward to its return at midseason.
I don’t have a list of new shows in front of me, but my initial impressions from Entertainment Weekly skimmings aren’t that bad. I’ll probably find some shows no one else likes that get quickly canceled, a few that I enjoy that aren’t canceled, and some that everyone except me loves. Seems like a pretty typical upcoming season to me.
