What game?
Somebody gave me Fallen: Enchantress as a gift it seems and I’m really liking it ;)

Move your units back. Throw spells if you have them. Always try to have ranged units in your group. Kite them.
Nope. I uninstalled, deleted the Elemental programdata and documents folders, redownloaded, and reinstalled the game. I then moved all the bik files to a temp folder. Started the game, got to the splash screen, and… Hard lock. Manual reboot.
Brad, I used your alternate download method. Same result. Hard lock after the splash screen.
I am confounded.
And you’re not getting any dump files from these crashes? Something is clearly mega messed up :( maybe try reinstalling your video drivers or something?
Brad figured it out!
I had to rename/move the SNXLOverlay.dll file. The game started right up and played fine!
You’ve made my evening, TeleFrog! Thank you so much for trying that out. I’ll talk to the team tomorrow about what could cause that.
Yay! I’ve never seen that crashing someone’s game, but awesome that it’s working now :)
I would have to ask one of our programmers to be 100% sure, but I think it’s a dll that ties into the overlay you get for achievements and such (when you hit control tab in game). It may also be used for some of our UI smoothing stuff, but I’ve never seen it be the source of a crash… until now apparently

Never allow them to hit you.
“Slow” works well, combined with high initiative ranged units. You’ll get in a lot of hits while they are lumbering forward - and unless the distance is short (or there are really many), they are unlikely to reach you.
With Altair, I’ve started to favor a Heroes (mounted) + Lancer (Mounted units with charge) + Horse Archer (Mounted archers - horses need to ensure they can keep up with 4 movement) approach, which seems to work pretty well for most enemies.

Well I was doing really well, looking at completing all the towers and then the Overlord’s thingy just… vanished. I went to build it. Clicked build. It disappeared from the list and my town was shown as idle.
Not sure what happened there, but I didn’t feel up to conquering the world (though I probably could have). The Slave Lords seem almost overpoweringly good. Early on slaves are HUGE and later on they’re still crazy if you start tossing them even just a few spear or maces and throw some leather on em. Good times.

If someone else built it before you, you cant build it too.

Well… then SOME sort of feedback would’ve been nice. Since it was on my list and I could select it and hit Build and then… nothing. It just disappeared.
If thats intentional it needs a lot of work because it looked like a crappy bug.

In my game a big screen popped up, saying this and this was built?
Yeah, when a landmark like that is built there is usually a notification.

If someone has it in their queue, you can’t build it. It’s an annoying nuisance I don’t like- and something I don’t think the Stardock folks have ever figured out what to do with folks who lose the wonders (GalCiv 2 had some wonkiness here as well)
Dropped to easy after a few games that did not go well (2 of 3 also included horrifically bad starting areas as it turned out; no new settlment locations for miles and miles).
Current easy game not really going well. I go double whammied as I was trying to expand to my third city. No, triple whammed. The triple is that there’s a pristine spot but settlment will probably activate an Air Elemental who will wipe out the city. The other two whammies? A gold strike which has not benefitted me in any way stirred up a lot of bandits. I’ve finally tkaen out most of them.
The other? A rumor appeared suggestion the Spider Queen is on the march. Oh, boy, is she. She’s running around with a massive (266 attack I think) army making things explode. But this also spawned a bunch of spider swarms I can’t kill (one of which finally decided to start eating the buildings on resource nodes). Possibly unrelated but fuck it, let’s just call it part of the agenda, another named spider army appeared to terrorize a different border. And then an army of albino rock spidrs I can’t kill either appeared with him.
Maybe deactivate the random events? Seems most of them are bad news, like different types of disasters.
Bug: the button “clear”, in the design unit interface, doesn’t clear everything from an unit while I’m editing it the perks won’t be erased, and there is no way to eliminate them. This at least happened in the 2nd scenario of the campaign.
