No, the game still hasn’t crashed to me. But it really slow down in the late game.

No issues here, sorry, Raz.

I didn’t know you could buy stuff within your city borders. I kept on wandering over the map, looking for a merchant. D’oh. I could have put my heroes on horses dozens of seasons ago.
Heh, I forget there some stuff that I learned in the beta and new people don’t know it. But the shop in your cities only have stuff unlocked by your research or resources, I think, so if your civ don’t have the horse resource you can’t buy them.
Actually you can buy both horses and wargs for champions without having any horses or wargs in stock. You simply can’t buy them for troops. It seemed odd but 2 movement is hard to pass up.

But you still meed to research them I think.
I would like have a few more basic spells. I don’t have a heal spell for strategic mode, for example, and I would like some kind of “haste” spell that gives more move units, instead of more initiative.

I started a Hero with a bow and ranged characters and it made a huge difference.

If you make friends with another faction you can also shop from their towns and have access to all the tech they’ve researched that way. I was able to get wargs for all my champions without ever finding any thanks to my neighbor.
The game is mildly amusing now. I think the little quests right off the bat are interesting. It’s also nice to see cities grow but not to have to place all the buildings (cause there are a million). I think the game might grow on me a little once I read the manual and figure out how to attempt something with purpose, I just kinda jumped in. Developed a character with a broken nose, broken ankle, and fear of death.
Switched to Easy, and am doing better in my second game.
I think one of my problems in the first game was hiring a Champion so weak, she could not win a fight to get the XP to get better.

Anybody know of a community site anywhere that features (or will) player-made skirmish maps & tiles (using the in-game editor etc)? Looks like the game came with 6 pregenerated skirmish maps and a random map generator, but the results from the random map generator tend to be a little too scattershot for my tastes at the moment.
In the mean time I’ll probably try to master the art of skirmish map settings for the auto generator, in case the uberrandomness I’m experiencing is a result of me not properly setting things up in the first place. I remember needing to tweak and toy with the GalCiv II random map settings quite a bit before I really got the hang of it to the point where the generator wasn’t just spewing out unsightly creatures of my own creation.
The game just got out five days ago, there isn’t exactly a lot of player made content right now. You can look up in the official forum in a pair of weeks, and maybe someone will have done something.

I know when the game came out. Since people have been playing along with the betas for (something like) ten months now, I was curious if there were any particular community sites worth checking out, especially sites that offer, or plan to offer, a portal for downloading player-made tiles and maps.
Sometimes people create fansites & community sites during extended betas like this (long before a game ever ships), and sometimes those sites foster a healthy player & mod community. If such a site were to exist for Fallen Enchantress I was simply hoping to find out which ones were worth checking out.
Thanks for trying though, much appreciated.
The beta didn’t have the editor ;)

I started out playing the campaign and got to the 2nd map and while it is a nice diversion, I wanted to dive back into the meat of the game. I will to get back to it soon, but I haven’t played against the AI yet, so today I started up an easy game against the AI to see how things are now on release compared to all the playing I did in the betas.
I really like some of the subtle adjustments that have been made. I can’t quite put my finger on all of them, but I am not noticing the little things that used to bother me earlier on in the betas. The research trees and build options seem to make more sense and flow better than I remember. There seem to be a lot more traits that differentiate the races and they are more pronounced and can actually impact strategies used with them.
I started with the Tarth since I loved the scouting ability they get. I scouted out all the nearby settling areas and got myself 4 good cities up so I think I am good shape for this game. I was scouting out the nearest empire army (it is still early on and they only had 2 units), and then saw this large ogre walk over and smack them into the ground, haha. There goes my nearest competition! :)

Heavenfall over at the Elemental forums has made a pretty cool high fantasy mod pack called Stormworld-http://stormworld.wikidot.com/ which he’s been working on since the beta’s.
Am I the only one that seems to have a dragon or two near every starting area?

No. I think that’s to keep you constrained while you build up, but I’ve seen that every game.
The AIs inability to punish early undefended fast expansion and early game aggression leads to some unbeatable strategies. I just won my second game in under 3 hours vs 4 opponents on challenging difficulty. In both games I crippled my nearest neighbor, fed on his minor cities, and kept him penned in while I boomed by tech up to bows. Once they were in play, finishing him off was a rote exercise. His ally fell shortly after. Made an alliance with the only survivor and got the diplomatic victory.
I am not sure if they creeps are supposed to balance this by keeping you penned in more. If so, playing Tarth negates this as it lets you pick your battles against the wandering mobs.
