Try the console command ‘disable’ (click on object to hide to set it as the reference). Probably still works the same as from Skyrim. Obviously be careful with that.
If you disable the wrong thing, if you haven’t clicked on something else and still have it selected, ‘enable’
Heh, yeah, you can bump the skellies around, and you can of course use the console, but I’m just ribbing the designers for leaving these remains for 200 years…
Then IGN is sorely mistaken.
If all four factions are still up and going, then yeah - the game isn’t over.

It’s a bit strange that you can use the individual pieces for materials but not whole skeletons.
…sort of. I had a body in that house north of Charlestown on the river, and dragged it down, threw it in the bushes outside…and next time I stopped by it was sitting in the living room again.
Well, duh, it got confused and thought it was in a zombie game!

Heh, the first raider I killed in the game, a guy and his dog that attacked me on the bridge coming out of sanctuary, is still lying there on the street in his underwear. Has been there for the entire game now, which I’ve been playing for dozens of hours.
Presumably, his body is never going to despawn, because of reasons.
Dozens of hours - pfffft! Bodies in Fallout 4 don’t despawn after hundreds of years.

I have dragged that guy’s corpse and thrown it in the lake dozens of times (can’t do that with the dog because it’s “too heavy to lift”), yet when I return to Sanctuary, he’s always miraculously teleported right back to his original death spot.
Here’s some good news for you though… stay away from Sanctuary long enough, and when you come back he’ll have respawned his clothes and items, so at least he’s not in his underwear anymore! Victory!
I’ve had similar problems at other settlements. Cleared the area by annhilating at least two dozen, if not more, feral ghouls, dutifully dragged every corpse into the woods / into the ocean, only to have them reappear in the places they died later.
But yeah, we shouldn’t have to use console commands to get rid of corpses, especially in settlements. Was it Skyrim that had the “Dispose of Body” key, that would loot all the items on it and make the body disappear? Why is that not in this game?
I’m sure someone will make a proper mod for it at some point. (If it doesn’t already exist, that is. I haven’t looked for mods yet. I’d rather wait until the proper tools are out and do another playthrough then.)

That body stays forever. I threw it in the fucking river. Next time I was walking out of town - it was there.
I am not sure if that was part of the base game. I remember being able to do it with the Hunterborn mod, but I don’t remember it being in the game by default. But yeah, seriously…especially in a game where you’re trying to build settlements and such…why would you not let people do that? Same with the random skeletons lying around. It all contributes to the game feeling like a theme park and not an actual world (though admittedly I think FO4 seems far more cohesive than FO3 did with its completely disconnected and nonsensical locations).

Trash Can Carla, kicking ass and taking names, LOL:
“Sorry, should have just run.”
Where’s our FFFFFFIIINISH HIM wombo combo? NPCs have all the fun.

Now why can’t a melee build have takedowns like that. Silent stealth kills and whatnot.

I had a stealth melee character. I could one-shot people, but it wasn’t stealth unless they were alone. IE: two people in a room, both facing away from you, you sneak up on one guy [ HIDDEN ] and used any kind of melee attack which might kill them, and the other people would be alerted. From that video it is hard to tell since he was attacking solo people. The idea is to remain [ HIDDEN ] when others are nearby and you do a stealth melee attack.

You can with VATS and melee. I played a little bit of a melee character and if you got a VATS kill, all sorts of awesome things tended to happen.
Good lord is this game catassing me. I am like on my 4th run-through, this time on hard. Actually starting to run out of ammo and am being forced to use stimpacks now.
Finally got my Local Leader perk! Now I can start having some fun with settlements.
If until now you didn’t have need to use the standard health item of the game, maybe you should have jumped to Hard way before.
