Buy the silenced pipe rifle from Trudi at the Drumline Diner. Modded, that gun will last you a long time and make sniping at Corvega and many other place so much easier since you will be much harder to detect.

OK, I thought it was my first toon I created when the game launched that contributed to my lack of interest. But after sinking 10 hours into the Infiltrator build I linked upstream, I realize it’s not the builds but the game itself. Maybe I’m tired of Bethesda’s formulae combined with such pedestrian writing, because I certainly enjoyed New Vegas quite a bit more, but FO4 is probably coming off my hard drive. The game is just stale as all hell for me, and I’m looking forward to replaying Skyrim yet again when the new edition hits this Nov.

That’s unfortunate John. I felt the same way about vanilla FO4 - I barely got through the game and I was hoping survival mode might turn me around on it. Maybe it will for me, so I’ll hold out some hope.

I can’t speak to Vanilla Fallout 4 – but I can only say this: I am looking forward to the new Skyrim as well!

Griff, would that be superior to my current Night-Vision Powerful Pipe Sniper Rifle? (26 dmg, 55 fire rate, 203 range, 112 accuracy). I am very, very pleased with this weapon and am surprised to be so pleased with it given that it’s just an unspecial rifle I pulled off a random body.

Poseidon Electric proved to be about the same difficulty as Tessa and Clint in Quincy, and I looted my fourth set of Power Armor. And finally realized that I need to be taking care to obtain the frames as well, because I only have two frames but components enough for more. If I want to be serious about hoarding armor sets back home, I can’t keep killing the occupants while they’re inside! Oops.

Later, while wandering and hoping to pick a new direction to explore, I realize that, back in the day, the boat-dwelling raiders who had tried to mug me on my initial journey to Diamond City had possessed another Power Armor set. Here is a chance to try to steal one with frame intact.

Ducking down, I snipe every raider but the Power Armor wearer. Cheesy.

Dogmeat and I make our way down to the shore, a few hundred yards away from the remaining raider. I tell him to Stay, because Dogmeat has gotten us into trouble an innumerable number of times in the past when I was trying to stealth. I then swim across the shallow water and creep onto the boat.

This time the guy doesn’t have a name. He’s just a Psycho Raider who happens to be tromping around in a Power Armor set. He also modded it with a bright light. I wait a bit, observing his habits some more, and then attempt to pick-pocket him.

But I can’t! He keeps detecting me once I’m in his inventory. I just don’t have the skills, even when I use my syringe rifle on him. I don’t have Stealth Boys nor easy access to any. Then I remember the fusion core, and next time he turns his back I fire off a couple of well-placed shots and run for it.

From across the short expanse of water, I hear his fusion core explode and his swearing, and the raider exits the suit. I sneak back over, jump into his suit and finally take out the defenseless raider. Score number three for the armor gallery.

Still Level 16. Life in Sanctuary is calm. Recent chaos motivates me to spend time at home for a while, and so I build up defenses. Preston Garvey likes them, and even honors me by climbing all three levels of a defensive structure I set up over the bridge. And the Caravan Lady, Trash Can Cathy or someone, is still able to come and go and do her caravanning thing. Although she sort of has to deviate from the bridge a bit and trudge through the river. One thing I still want is a Chemistry Bench at home, but I can’t create one because my crafting level or whatever isn’t high enough. So I keep building and then run out of concrete. So I go foraging, and in the process find…a Chemistry Bench! Sitting off behind a random house. So I move it back home. And so it’s time to go adventuring again.

This time I decide to venture northeast from Diamond City. So I do so, and immediately come across a comics shop. Don’t want to spoil this one because it’s so super juicy. Highly recommend heading in that direction. Came away with an absolutely fantastic weapon and costume/armor set with one additional costume to boot and a bonus quest for later. And some point increases from finds. And there was a pretty cool story along the way, and some great fights using said fantastic weapon.

I exit the shop and continue northeast and find a pond. And Fallout tells me that there is something important about the pond, because the location is announced to be Swan’s Pond. Hmm.

Creeping forward, I find that sure enough, there is a pond and there are some structures that could be swan related. But there’s also something weirder in the pond.

Hrm

Skipping forward, because I don’t want to spoil the discovery, I find myself a few hundred yards away, hiding behind a raider defensive structure fighting a very large creature who has a giant anchor for one hand and what appears to be a boat for the other. And he’s chucking rocks or something at me. Behind me, there were some raiders who have lived here but they’ve mostly been taken out as bystanders, aren’t really aggroing on me at the moment, and don’t really seem to realize what’s going on.

Wow I did not know you could do that Barstein! Awesome!

Determined not to waste $75 ($45 game + $30 season pass) I’m rolling up a 3rd toon based on this Iron Man suggestion. Named him Toni Stark, did my best to make him look like the comic book character, and off I go. First perk was Nuclear Physicist, followed by Big Leagues, Pain Train, and Basher. If I run out of fusion cores, that’s why god created “player.additem 00075fe4 x”. Will unbalance the game a lot, but that’s ok. Now I’m not spamming stimpaks every time I get jumped by a few rats or moles.

If you’re referring to what I think you’re referring to, I discovered later that there is a potential downside. If certain companions witness you using the stolen suit and/or the stolen components later on – doesn’t matter if the previous owner was raider scum or not – from their point of view, it was not your suit when you took possession of it and they will judge you for that.

The game is sooooo much better at these early levels with my T-45 PBA. And I’ve only had to cheat with 1 fusion core so far. Found and bought the rest.

I might actually get through this game now.

Mission: obtain Power Armor worn by a Mass Fusion building Gunner commander doing the Riker Chair Maneuver inside a small room without killing him. Chances of success: Improbable.

In every similar mission up until now, I’ve found ways to get my targets to expose their backs and therefore their cores. Not this time, it seems. Hrm.

What happened right AFTER that screen shot? I fear I know, since I’ve seen that scene before myself…

I know what happened. He went to town on his Jet supply and added another power armor to his collection!

Nearly got iced but somehow managed to get away and hide again. After sneaking back I found a better vantage point that yielded a few points of info I hadn’t been aware of before:

 1. The gunner commander did sometimes face the wall.

 1. My gender bias became evident as the armor suit opened and Dogmeat laid into the emerging gunner commander. Of course women wear power armor too. Sorry about that, gunner commander.

 2. There was a bobble head sitting almost directly in front of me.

 1. I don’t know how to start an ordered numbered list with a number other than 1. (This row is marked #4.)

ARGHHG decisions decisions! Do I continue my game that was brilliant and slightly overpowered and 70% complete? Or do I scratch that game and start over in Survival mode so I can have the feeling of actually being scared again? I’d put like 150 hours into my current game but have not played in months since I’ve been busy with other things. I wish I had PC version so I could mod the things that I am not sure I can overcome… leaving crap behind. It got so annoying having to make 5 trips back to places so I could pick up all the stuff I had to leave behind.

You know Barstein --that was classic.

I did gunners plaza tonight on Laura the ass-whipping militia-woman. Overseers guardian and a TON of grenades.

Not really a spoiler on that to say: Good god watch the turrets, they can mow you down in there,

Jpinard – start over. The real game came out in survival – and take your time. Fallout 4 survival is about slow movement (strategically) and LOTS of running around. And beds.

@KristiGaines have you looked into the penetrator perk? Being able to shoot through obstacles in VATS can make a big difference. I’ve gotta admit though that the cheese factor is high when you can shoot through power armor and sentry bots from the front to hit their fusion cores.

More details of the Vault-Tec Workshop DLC.
“This is the first Workshop add-on that actually has quests associated with it,” says Kurt Kuhlmann, Lead Designer on Vault-Tec Workshop. “Because this one happens in a specific place – you actually have a location, not just some things to play with – we could attach quests to it that really make sense as part of the offered content.”

But you don’t have to complete the quests at all if you don’t want to. If you just want the pure Workshop experience and don’t care about the narrative overlay, you can choose to kill the poor ghoul Overseer, or just tell her to leave when you arrive. If you do choose to kill her or force her out, you’ll still be able to build a basic version of each experiment item.
Level 20 minimum to start, since Vault 88 is filled with higher-level raiders.

Is it going to be included in the season pass?

Yes.
