Cancel, not turn off. Cancel is basically backing out of VATS.

Right mouse button – for deselecting body part targets in VATS – also exits VATS.

Started Far Harbor without a companion (couldn’t get them to get on the boat), and then almost immediately ended up with a native companion anyway. Found a pretty amazingly entertaining side quest, given by someone named Pearl that’s highly recommended and hilarious so far. I wish I could disclose some of what’s happened but just can’t. However, I will give credit to the protag voice actress for her superb handling of the private dick stuff. Priceless.

Edit: Oh, and I suppose this hat makes me a pirate detective survivor mom:

Lol Griff – heh --exactly. Bar? I think I am starting to wonder about you --in a good way.

Cancelling at start of slow mo works great thanks!

‘Hey how are you progressing on the search for Eddie’s tapes?’ Wraaa :)

So, not a fan of rad storms, rad rain, whatever. It’s not a bad concept, but if you’re inside something, you have no way of knowing what it’s doing right outside that door (even if there are windows aplenty). So you have no idea how long you actually have to wait inside for said storm to pass. Would be nice if you got a little leeway to begin with instead of dosing you with rads right away.

Nonetheless, having a blast going through this a second time. Haven’t even made it to the official DLCs yet, even though I’m level 42 or 43. Part of that may be because of the rad issue I hear about with far harbor (although I guess I could just wear a radiation suit all the time).

I was a veritable walking pharmacy when I first arrived at Far Harbor, and maybe it’s for that reason that the local fog and the increased radiation haven’t been a big problem for me. (No rad armor or perks, not playing Survival Mode.) I could direct you to a free radiation suit though, if you’re interested.

Is there anything particularly cool I should look for in Far Harbor before I succumb to the call to wander off? Didn’t really suck me in, outside that one fun side quest I mentioned in my last post. I’ve been sort of wandering aimlessly, clearing areas when I can and occasionally completing parts of the local quests with a minimal amount of enthusiasm.

Returned to Vault 88 to resume building and am very slowly creating a basic vault dwelling. The related quest chain is pretty amusing, but not extensive or intense. Meaning, not a huge commitment and entertaining to boot.

Building is kind of a different story. In a nutshell, the snapping is a nightmare until you master all the little rules and quirks. I assume most folks end up consulting wikis and looking at youtubes. Even after watching a bunch of Sips’ stream myself, I’m still encountering new oddities and figuring out ways around them. And that’s just the basic hallway/room stuff.

I decided to run a no expansion – no settlement character – and I have been running (or having ) a blast! Having no cares in the world make’s the game fun in a weird way.

BTW that’s on survival. Pistol luck spec and only pistol. Stealth. Barely any armor.

Saw a Youtuber Major Slack do a run like this, was very different and interesting.

It is run and gun --and occasionally dying – very fun. Mom anger.

Oooooooh, love this idea.

Tuxedo + Deliverer. It’s the only way to roll.

BTW that’s an especially fun way to roll when you know where stuff is a bit.

NukaWorld trailer. New enemies, settlement knick-knacks, weapons, and quests.

That looks good. I was thinking lately if I should buy the game at $20, where it’s been recently on both PC and console, especially since people had been ambivalent or negative about the DLC so far. But after watching this, I think it will be worth waiting for a GOTY edition of the game with all the DLC.

The ghouls running on the fun house wheel got a pretty good laugh out of me.

Hmm. The file size for Nuka-World is 3.6GB.

The file size for Far Harbor was 2.7GB.

Likely lots of voice work then. That stuff really seems to eat up the gigabytes.

The paddle smack to the face got a laugh out of me.

Hmm – I have the PERFECT character for that expansion. Time to get some gun fu on!
