Has anyone tried any of the Wabbajack modlists for FO4? I’m looking for something that’s close to Requiem for Skyrim (or rather, Serenity), but I don’t really like the sound of Horizon. I am however very interested in automated settlements, which most of the lists seem to have (Sim Settlements 2). Life in Ruins and Magnum Opus both look decent - anyone have first hand experience with either?

I did one mod list for F4, Magnum Opus. I got some enjoyment out of it, although the fundamental issue is that F4 in general, is a very lack-luster game.
Sim Settlements 2 is neat, but is a bit buggy and lacks feedback as to why you settlement refuses to grow. IE: You have plenty of housing, water, food and Happiness is 90, but you never get any new settlers attracted to your settlement.

Anyone know of decent console mods available on Bethesda that removes the wax figure look of the characters? Most character mods I find are juvenile mods for curviness or bustiness.
Some other recommended XSX mods would be appreciated, too. I’d LOVE a mod to shut the freakin’ raiders up.
Is there anything as ambitious as LOTD for Skyrim?
Some gameplay has been revealed!
Also some voice actor news:
Saw that preview - looking forward to that coming out at some point. And I like that the story doesn’t start off having to search for someone.
Yeah, it has a sort of Half-Life vibe for the start. Interesting that they jump back and forth between 1st and 3rd person. I confess I don’t recall–does Fallout 4 have a third-person view? And they’re using a controller as well, something I’ve not tried with a Fallout game.
UI is clean, the environments and characters look pretty good, given the limitations of the foundation. Definitely very interesting.
Might be controversial but Fallout outside of American isn’t Fallout. Flat out…
There is Russian Fallout with ATOM RPG. It’s clearly Russian. Not Fallout. Defiantly Russian “Fallout” though, if that makes sense.

Agreed, the unique aesthetic that respective environment/eras provide cannot be easily replicated elsewhere. It’s like putting Stalker games in Paris, it just wouldn’t work.

I have picked up my game where I left it when Elden Ring came out, and boy, I had forgotten just how annoying the constant defending of the settlements gets. I am now just racing thru to the end.
Can you ever get to a point where the settlements are more self sufficient? I’ve been thinking about starting Fallout 4 (especially now that the wait for Starfield got a little longer, sad face) but that stuff does sound like a turnoff.
It certainly isn’t Fallout in the sense that Fallout is specifically a parodic take on American Cold War culture. A foreign setting can still yield a Fallout-adjacent game, though, exploring a similar take on Cold War culture through other lenses.
A lot will depend on how slavishly the people making the mod approach trying to be Fallout-ish.

You can just ignore it I guess, I have arrived too late and “failed” some settlement quests and it has no effect. The settlement still exists and the people act like nothing happened. It just depends on your ability to ignore them.
Yeah, but it becomes a total different thing. Not Fallout, which is tined to cold war America.
In one sense, sure, though the Cold War culture was a part of Europe as well. Not the same way, of course, but it’s not so different that a mod like this wouldn’t make sense. What I do wonder though is how much if at all they are going to try to tie it to the Fallout lore.
They didn’t even get “elevator” to “lift” right.
I almost never go to defend settlements. But then again most of the settlements I build have very few people and tons of defenses.

I think the most frustrating thing about them is that the defenses you build seem to make no difference.
They seem completely ineffective at actually killing anything if I’m also present but when they start firing it helps me notice that something is attacking!
Mostly I build them because I think there is a formula about the ratio of defenses to people that controls how often attacks happen. I’m not going to run around actually defending the people at settlements but I’m not totally heartless!
