There are also some corrugated type metal buildings available.

TY. Ill have to look again later, the best I recall seeing was a sort of wood frame but no stairs.

The lightning/radiation storms are impressive. Reminds me of STALKER blowouts. Awesome.

I cheated to add carrying capacity also. I really don’t enjoy worrying about my inventory. Beauty of the PC version is the ability to do stuff like this. Console versions will have mods to do it soon enough, though, I suppose.

I don’t have the game yet, so I watched too guys playing.

One was obviously new to Fallout games, he did not explored every room, nor took trash like broken radios, and was clumsy in combat.
The other guy, obvious RPG vet, looting everything and exploring everything, having fun with the combat.

Fallout never change, but people learn the ins and out :D

Answering myself. It appears that some of us that started playing right at 9PM got screwed on Achievements.

I guess I’ll be starting over tonight.

I finally was able to retrieve my key from FunStock Digital around midnight (their site was functional but still problematic) however a scan of social media suggests that there are still major problems for a lot of people. A lot of customers are pinging support saying that their FO4 key is not in their account, even after waiting this long. I count myself lucky. The vendor delayed key distribution by 5 days, had their site crash on the promised day, and still seem to have not adequately distributed keys as of this morning (after official release).

I am mainly posting this as a caveat emptor for everyone. Avoid this seller even if they have great discounts (I bet one will pop up for Fallout 4 soon, but ignore it).

Is my imagination or did Bethesda put a subtle joke with the radio DJ from Diamond City Radio?

Lots of people whined about how much overbearing and on your nose was Three Dog in Fallout 3, so now they have made a DJ which is the total opposite, a timid, bumbling, clumsy guy which obviously doesn’t have anything to do on a radio show, he has to be the worst radio DJ ever. Though precisely because of that he is kind of funny.

Whelp, Survival is really brutal in the start. Might have to drop down the difficulty a notch or two, I’m not exactly a fan of this Skyrim Legendary style of difficulty with resistances cranked to 11.

Anyone playing this on steam controller ? Both FO4 and SC arrived today so I figured I would test it together. FO4 is still installing.

I did for a little bit. Significantly easier to play with a regular Xbox controller. Or mouse & keyboard.

Then again, I’m just not a fan of the Steam controller at all.

My steam link should arrive today and I’m only working a half-day, so I plan to hook everything up and try it later!

So I believe the lady killer/man hunter perk can be adjusted to be man/man woman/woman, but I can’t seem to figure out how to get that option. My male character can only chose lady killer. How do I adjust it to select man hunter instead?

Loving it so far, but the PC UI is typical (modern) Bethesda. By that i mean it suffers from a ton of consolitus. Numerous screens can’t be controlled by the mouse and require you to push various keyboard commands. I can’t wait until fans fix this crap, again.

A played a bit this morning before work on (Steam PC version), and I will be picking up the Steam Link and the controller from EB Games on my way home tonight.

Yeah, it’s pretty bad. I just disabled the crosshair because it was getting in the way.

You can’t, it’s always been the opposite sex.

I’ve been thinking of getting one of those. Can you tell me how it works out for you?

Oh, and so far, it does look much better than Fallout 3. It’s basically Skyrim with god rays and some other effects, which is good enough.

The faces and the running animations are still bad sometimes.

This really is annoying. I particularly dislike the inconsistency, where TAB goes back from many menus but some require hitting ESC, and occasionally you need to hit ENTER to confirm rather than E, which means I need to take my right hand off the mouse. Consolitus indeed.

Fallout 3 was really quit ugly in many places. We all accepted that because, well, it’s a post-apocalyptic wasteland, after all! But F4 shows that even the apocalypse can be lovely. I was on top of a tower last night in the middle of a rad-storm, with glowing green mist and heat lightning. Just gorgeous.
