Anyone bet that somehow, some way that… the bags won’t be canvas?
They’ll be like… made of radiation, or something.

I can’t believe this shitty game is doing better than Anthem.
FO76 is not great, but it’s vastly better than that trainwreck.
In a normal business organization, someone would be fired for this big freakin mistake of a game
Not quite yet. That’s my cutoff too.

Every time this thread is bumped I expect it. Every damn time. :)
I figured a Steam release date was gonna be mentioned.

FO76 released in really bad shape, but it’s clear they’re working on the game and making improvements. Anthem is… well, have an ember.
I am with LK --when a steam date is mentioned I will start saving my radaway.
This is my current game, and I’m still having a blast despite all the problems. It’s a janky mess, sure, but it’s a lovable janky mess. I like exploring, shooting ghouls and super mutants, and building a better settlement while hunting gatling gun plans. I’m not at end game, I don’t min-max, I just kind of enjoy the ride.
The game is pretty great (warts and all) up til the end game, if you (like me) just like the basic explore/shoot/loot/level cycle. The end game is dreadful, and there is zero “role-playing” in the world, really.
I think as much as anything, in addition to the bugs and terrible design choices, the game suffers from a lack of clear identity.
Human NPC’s and a new main quest being added for free, so this might intrigue me enough to actually play this game.
The Battle Royale they’re adding must have slipped your mind… doesn’t everyone and their brother just live to play battle royale these days?
I started playing this about 3 months after release and was very pleasantly surprised. I’ve sunk a lot of hours into this and I’m only level 41 I think. I haven’t concluded the main quest or all the additional content they have added since I started playing.
I wasn’t a big fan of Fallout 4. New Vegas was more my thing. I’m not sure why this has stuck for me. I think its the single player quasi-mmo feeling. I see other people around occasionally but they don’t bother me and occasionally assist me. I’d really like to see a text chat feature though as communicating via limited emotes is painful(since I generally disable voice chat).
I’m looking forward to the human NPCs though. I haven’t really missed them much though. They have done a good job with the robot NPCs and the audio/text logs. I’m wondering if I should finish the ‘Year 1’ content now before they release the updates. Will the game be immediately changed when the update happens or does it trigger based on your progress of the ‘year 1’ game?
Nobody knows if it’ll be a new area or if NPCs will populate the existing map. If you’re enjoying the game as it is now, best advice is to keep playing it.

Tried the free trial. Performance is REALLY bad. No framecounter but it was certainly well below 30fps at 1440p on my GTX1080. Tried medium settings, had no effect. Also movement feels really laggy, like the server is having trouble catching up.
It came out like a year ago, didn’t it? What a piece of shit.
The Onion nails it, again
Fallout 4.5 in 2018/19 with strap-on PvP… complete with what all that entails. If you can handle that, FO76 is swallowable. If not, well, it’s a very unwelcome shot in the tonsils.

I played on a 1080 and it was a stable 60fps, not sure what was going on for you. Did you try toggling between full screen/windowed? For some reason some games run like an absolute pig until I change that (and it’s not consistent from game to game).
No, just played full-screen windowed, not full-screen. If that fixes it I don’t care, I don’t want to play it then.
