I was quite shocked and disgusted, so I just let them leave (me being level 4 had something to do with it too). But yeah, that was an awesome moment. And then I arrived to that dead radioactive city…uhgh huh. Vilified by legion now, happily.

Still, I want to speak to their leader.

I have no idea what are you guys talking about.

Nice spoilers in a spoiler free thread.

Good point.

That said, the game has been out for over a week in the Americas and since Friday in the rest of the world. The section being talked about is very early on in the main quest so you’d have to not be playing much at all not to have seen it at this point.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that you can only expect spoilers to be contained for so long. ;-)

And I don’t believe that’s the first encounter with the Legion anyway (not for everyone) - mine certainly wasn’t that way. It was bad but it’s wasn’t shocking or disgusting or an amazing story telling moment.

That’s the thing, I am scared to go to spoiler thread because I have no idea what kind of spoilers are people talking there, and I am only level 12 so far, and have no idea what the story is about yet.

It’s not hard. Go to the last post, hit the reply button without looking, post your question, and then skim the results to look for someone quoting you.

The rest, again, is just chit-chat. You don’t have to say “hey wasn’t that part awesome?”

Complete with the Necropolis “City of the Dead” track playing from Fallout 1.

New Vegas is loaded with Fallout 1/2 music tracks. A part of me likes it, but when they re-use a specific track that was only used for one specific area in Fallout 1 in multiple areas in New Vegas it starts to lose its unique appeal…

Are they using the remastered Fallout Soundtrack?

DarNified version 2 for NV is out:

So unbelievably cool. Makes the game SO MUCH more comfortable to play.

Damn it. I may have to switch to PC for the next playthrough just for that barter menu.

Thanks for the heads up, Paul!

I think so. In fact, surely they did the remastered OST for New Vegas, instead of just because.

The two Fallout games, in particular NV for some reason, both gave me the first case of video game nausea I’ve ever had.

The disgustingly big text was the reason, it appears.

The problem is that I can’t seem to find a list of ID numbers for items/people/etc that includes ED-E on it :(

What are you referring to here? My first encounter with them was me killing them from a distance.

Dude, your google fu is weak. Search “ed-e id vegas”, and in the first or second result:

in the console, one at a time:

prid #####
moveto player

If you’ve gotten ED-E’s armor upgrade, ##### = 1732d0
If you’ve gotten ED-E’s weapon upgrade, ##### = 1732d1
If you’ve gotten neither upgrade, ##### = 1732cf

If nothing (visible) happens, add enable between the two above codes.

Really? I’m kinda wondering since the faction starts out neutral to you, did you go ahead and start the hostilities?

I actually tried to complete quests that involved killing legionaries without the faction going hostile to me for as long as possible. I managed two quests (you pretty much need to use Stealth Boys for this) before finally hitting a quest where THEY start the hostilities even if the faction is neutral to you. All bets were off at that point.

Dunno if this happened to others but when I used the moveto console command to retrieve Raul from wherever he had decided to go off to, he sure appeared right on top of me, but would thereafter never move. I’d set him to follow, and he’d say sure, then stay put. Wouldn’t appear when I fast traveled or went through a transition door, either. So I just sent him back to Lucky 38 to chill, and went and got Cass instead.

Of course, Cass seems to have an issue with, um, walking, as she seems extremely prone to getting hung up on rocks, slopes, pebbles, twigs, and what not.

Yeah, I loved that.

Man, that Johnny Guitar song by Peggy Lee is sad.
