If I missed the chance to get the free deck of cards from the guy in Goodsprings, am I out of luck? I’ve been picking up every individual card I’ve seen for sale but still after quite a few hours in I still don’t have the required number of cards to play Caravan with anyone.

You’ll need 30 cards, IIRC. Make sure to buy the ones off traveling merchants too.
You can’t go back and meet him in Goodsprings, or meet up with him at Crimson Caravan? I have no idea how to get past that hurdle conveniently, as gathering 30 cards without a starting deck would be a pain in the ass. The first three vendors I ran into (Primm, Mojave Outpost, and Novac) had four or five cards available most times, so you might want to make sure to drain that part of their inventory every time you walk by.
I didn’t try at Crimson Caravan so I’ll check that out tonight and see if I have any luck there.
Hey Destarius, I’ve read that some people need to disable steamcloud for their ini changes to stick, as well as setting everything back to read_only_ when finished.
So…is this game still blowing up for a lot of people? I’m trying to hold out, but even mother fucking Ice Tea says he can’t stop playing it. How am I supposed to resist that.
Of all the games you could be holding out on right now, this is the last one you should.
I’ve had one hard crash, one fall through the scenery crash and a couple of "return to previous save game because npcs were irretrievably stuck in architecture. This over the course of 55 hours on two 360’s, with very little mileage on the main quest fwiw. If you have something else to play, then you might as well wait, but there’s not enough of a compelling bug case to wait if you’ve got nothing else on your plate. It’s still pulling me back in despite RB3 and Fable being interesting in their own right.

Matt, I’ve put 8 hours into the 360 version and haven’t had a single problem or crash. Grab it, it’s an amazing game.

Hmm odd, at around level 12 I was killing Cazadors easily when I went to complete the “green” vault quest. I’m a CQB guns specialist. Deathclaws are still too tough though.
Just did the “beef” quest with the white gloves last night. Pretty awesome. A little buggy but I guess that’s what you get for a quest not being a standard fed ex.
I’ve put around 20 hours in the 360, and I have had a few crashes. Total system freezes. However, despite that…it’s a great game. Highly recommended.
By the way, I read over at Something Awful that cards not adding to your Caravan deck is a bug that occurs when you buy from a vendor - you can either put them in a container and loot them again or install a fix mod (on PC, of course).
I’m going to buy it on the PC or not at all. Does it work on the PC are will I get Tom Chick esque problems?

Seems to work pretty well for most people - I have about 30 hours in it, and 2 crashes and one bug
I have about 12 hours under my belt and have had one crash, no other problems.
I’ve played for 26 hours and have had two crashes which lost me a total of about 3 minutes, and best of all, it doesn’t give me any problems when alt-tabbing like the last one did.
Yeah, I’ve also noticed that it’s pretty alt-tab friendly, which is nice. 15 or so hours with the PC version and no crashes or significant bugs for me. I’ve had the usual glitchiness I associate with Bethesda’s Gamebryo implementation, like NPC pathing weirdness, but nothing remotely gamebreaking.

Fire Geckoes?
MY APOCALYPTIC VISIONS CONFIRMED. Also, OH GOD, THE BURNING.
Really? I have it off already so maybe that’s something people should do as well.
