While this thread is petering out, I wanna get this one bit in and hope someone can help.

I did a really stupid thing. I was in a neutral camp, I was looking thru my loot, and I equipped a bad guy outift, in a room, with a LOT of soldiers. Yes, insta kill. I managed to strip, but still, even mostly naked, instal kill.

Yes I have a save but it is way back progress wise. Do I just grin and bear it? If I eventually make it out the door to run, will my status reset?

Yes, I know how stupid it is.

I hope this time the DLC is available at Steam at launch.

I’ve only done something like this once, and the residents of Primm stayed hostile to me. So personally I just reloaded from an earlier save.

I remember reading somewhere that the hostility goes away after three days. Equip a Stealth Boy if you have one and sneak away or just run away while using Stimpaks. Not attacking them can’t hurt. If non-aggression proves impossibly hard, it’s still worth it to come back after three days and see what’s what.

If your relation with the faction takes too large a hit, repair it first by doing some things they like before going back. If playing on a PC, just use some console command to magic away the boo-boo.

Heh, ok sounds like it is worth a try…teach me not to save more often.

Don’t you have an auto-save from when you entered the house?

Just wanted to drop in and say that I’ve finally finished this game. I think, all in all, I enjoyed Fallout3 more but this was still excellent. Played start to finish with zero bugs or problems on the 360. I think my luck stat must have been mega buffed or something! :)

I am pretty sure the auto save is AFTER I swapped for some reason…but maybe I didn’t check that out fully- I wouldn’t put it past me for missing something simple like that.

Ha, Big Iron is a real song! Just came up in Pandora when I was listening to a station with the Hackensaw Boys and Trampled By Turtles. That is just awesome. Now I need to play that damn game again.

I petered out not long after I got to Vegas. The game got a lot less interesting then…

Bwuh? When I was playing it, it didn’t get interesting until I got to Vegas. Suddenly I went from 1-2 quests open to a bajillion.

Oh, I did a lot of the quests in NV, but they all boil down to go to Y, kill X / deliver Z. Very few interesting quests once the you play in Vegas for a bit it seemed to me. I took out the dudes terrorizing the NCR, I fast delivered a bunch of different bullshit, killed/solved Vaults…but it just boring a few hours in… Plus, the main protaganist? Boring to me.

That said, I am considering restarting, just to play the outlying areas again…

Same experience. My wife and I are both struggling to get past Vegas, months later, after enjoying 30-50 hours apiece in the wasteland itself. Five load screens per fetch quest across town with no direct fast travel? No thanks.

Did any of you guys run across this abandoned ship in your travels? Also, the quest inside New Vegas involving the cattle baron’s son was excellent and the one requiring the most thought and effort for me.

Yeah, I even did a fair amount of the quests in Vegas. It just seems to be DRAGGING now. I destroyed the plasma gun dealers, did all of Cassie’s quest the bad way, met the big bad guy, etc, etc, etc… And I just bored. Can not bring myself to finish it. Maybe after resting a bit.

As you did, I had 30+ hours in the game and loved most of it…

DLC Dead Money out on Steam. 10 €, and i suppose is also ten bucks outside Europe.

Yep, it’s up on Steam at $9.99 US.

Btw, isn’t the price a bit high? How long is the DLC?

It isn’t any more expensive than the Fallout 3 DLC was. From what I’ve read, Dead Money is 4-6 hours long.

Unfortunately, from what I’ve read, it’s also really frustrating. Lots of traps and stealth sections where you’re dodging invulnerable enemies. I think I’ll pass.

But i also have read the npcs are very good. Some of the best npcs in the Fallout series. And in fact, it seems the DLC was written by C. Avellone.
