This is a great mod if you like exploration and lots of combat.
I went back in time to an earlier save where I didn’t have the Great Khans support and continued playing from there. I lost about an hour or so of time to re-do that but I’m happier that way.
There is (almost) no hope for Boone, even though I have saves all the way back to the beginning in Goodsprings, because there is too much water under that bridge.
Best as in “most entertaining to have with you” - not best in combat. There is no better combo then Boone/ED-E.

Isn’t there some console command to spawn him?
I know my buddy lost ED-E and used the console to create a new one and then accidently ran into the one he lost in his travels.
He mentioned he’s playing on 360.
There are commands to move npcs, there is no need to spawn new ones…

Bought this on release, played it for an hour, lost interest (damn those horrible horrible faces and that twitchy, floaty movement) and quit.
Just restarted and it is … pretty awesome. Still early game (I’m around lvl 5) and was sneaking on a big band of Jackal Raiders right between the Mojave Outpost and that town The Legion visited, when five gang members ups and leaves. I shoot the three remaining ones and scatter some mines over the area. I had a hunch where the gang was headed since they nearly bushwacked me on my way back from That Town earlier. I kept a fair distance until they rounded an outcrop ahead, when I snuck left toward a nice ambush rock I’ve spotted. All of a sudden I hear gunfire and immediately go to ground. Nothing. I see a big badass Gecko running away over the former lake with a handful smaller ones in tow. Left behind them are five dead Jackals and two dead molerats, spread out in more ways than one. I loot them and head on.

Kinda wish there was a way to respec your character in game or outside of it. I am regretting not taking some of those perks like Educated.
You can respec your character, “outside” the game. Or inside. I am talking of using console commands.
Sometimes I have a really hard time respecting my character, because they remind me too much of uh, me.
I’m playing Fallout 3 now. I was wondering if Vegas (PC version) is patched enough by now to be playable when I finish, perhaps early next month? Does Vegas also crash on Win7 (64-bit) like Fallout 3?

While I don’t know about New Vegas, I did not have any issue with Fallout 3 on my x64 Windows 7. I recently bought the GOTY edition on steam and replayed it all with TWE and it was such an amazing experience I think I shall wait however long it takes for New Vegas to release all DLCs and appropriate mods before giving it a go.
I’ve had no troubles with New Vegas on x64 Windows 7. I haven’t played Fallout 3 on the PC, just on the 360.
Pardon my ignorance, but what the heck is TWE?

Oh, sorry, I meant to say FWE which stands for Fallout 3 Wanderer Edition. It’s a truly great effort at changing the atmosphere and difficulty of the base game and it is quite customizable if you’re not satisfied with the default settings.

Damn. I picked up Boone a while back and now the game is starting to crash on me. No crashes before, maybe 8 crashes in the last two days with Boone. Game is Steam auto-patched, no mods used. Any quick fixes or should I just ditch him? It’s not like I normally play Fallout with companions anyway.
I am about to finish the main quest. Does the game let you continue following the main quest or does it end a-la Fallout 3?
Speaking of crashes, I had two yesterday on the 360 which annoys me, I never know if it means another RROD is coming. I had to get off my couch and hard reboot it. At least the PS3 seems to be able to be rebootable from my couch.
I finished the main quest in this over the weekend (aligned with NCR). It took about 54 hours all told.
I then went back to try the other factions and the game kept crashing at the damn. I think each of the 3 finales (working on the Legion now) had 2-3 hard crashes in the finale. Annoying since they all happened so close together.
