Unfortunately not. I remember interview with…I think Howard, who said they are not using idtech 5 for their next project.
I guess I would expect Bethsoft to move to using idtech 5 (or whatever iteration is then current) in the next generation. It probably wouldn’t make much sense to reinvent the wheel for anything they’re going to release this generation.

There have also been other reviewers here who say they aren’t seeing those problems and then there are the 360 players that have been playing all weekend on Justintv and other places and they aren’t complaining about the same things.
We’ll know more soon enough, but relying only on Tom’s reports on this is perhaps not the best way to go. His protests aside, we can’t completely rule out the failing XBox possibility. Is the XB360 after all. ;-)

Yes. I don’t have a lot of tolerance for pushy salespeople.
Nice. Typically if I ever think of a clever response, it’s always about 15 minutes after the time in which I could’ve said it.

Straight from the main guy on the official boards:
All we announced is that the first DLC will be exclusive to Xbox LIVE. It’ll be available this holiday season through Xbox LIVE.
So apparently this first one is 360 only, which is pretty damn disappointing. Basically, MS paid for the exclusivity, at least for a time, but that still means that PS3 and PC users end up feeling like second-class gamers, even if it is released for their systems later. I can at least see the reason in the 360 vs PS3 battle, but PC gamers are generally not considered direct competitors. But apparently someone (MS of all people in this case) thinks that’s how they want to look at things.
I bet it would’ve been different if the PC version of the game had used GFWL.
Maybe not. Look at Bioshock 2. Being tied to GFWL is likely one of the reasons why we aren’t seeing the last two DLCs.
I think the only game I let bug reports stop me from buying was Alpha Proticol. Usually I some never see the bugs many other people do, like the Gothic games for example. I will be getting FOLV but I have a backlog to finish first.
Somebody needs to remind MS that they made windows.
Terrible news. I always buy games like Fallout on the PC (for mods, natch). Oh well, all the free mod content should collectively be better than the (hopefully single) exclusive DLC.
It’s okay – the first DLC is always a little awkward and disappointing anyway.
Until i saw the torrent of complaints about the DLC issue i didn’t know people bought so much into the DLC trend. I didn’t thought on buying any of the DLC, so is a non-issue for me.

My local two Gamestops have pretty awesome employees who have never pushed anything on me. I’m actually happy to shop there now.
That’s a strange proclamation to make sight unseen. If you like the main game, why discount the DLC out of hand. FO3 had some great DLC, particularly Point Lookout.

Uh-oh. It locked up again.
Note to self: Do not step on mines or trade golden gecko hides. Tom might be on to something after all.
The odious nature of horse armor and the generally paltry return per dollar has tarred DLC for many people.
Anyone that is boycotting DLC because of horse armor has got to jump into 2010. That’d be like avoiding Tylenol because some was poisoned in the 1980’s. DLC has come a long way since the launch of the 360 and FO3’s DLC was a shining example of that. I certainly don’t understand someone saying that he had no plans to buy the New Vegas DLC no matter what. Hell, at least wait to hear what it is.
Interesting analogy, considering all the recalls of Tylenol this year :-).
