I hope so. I abused (read: cheated) the hell out of that in the first game while still maintaining my feeling of “but I didn’t really cheat, now did I?”

Is there a manual to the game? I can’t find one on steam. If not, how about the key map?
Yes, it works like in Fallout 3… but the number of points gained doesn’t scale with the Int stat as much as in F3.
Hey, that’s not cheating! Just prudent use of available resources.
But yeah, pretty much.

I only puttered around for 30 minutes, but looks and plays great at 2048x1280/Ultra Settings/4xAA/15xMSAA. Obviously too short a playtime to comment on stability.
Bug reports abound, but I’m still buying this (for the PC) today.
Fallout 3 with an Obsidian storyline, at the cost of Gamebryo and the typical Obsidain nettles? Hell yeah I’ll make that trade.
Anyone get a CE yet? Are the pack-ins nice? I’d normally wait to buy this but the CE has me wanting to get one now.
In the comments there’s a guy saying the NPCs running crazy is due to the bloke (RPS is british, right?) not holstering his weapon.
If this is actually the case, the bugs he noticed come down to (in order):
-Possibly not a bug at all.
-One missing object.
-The Oblivion engine.
-The Oblivion engine.
-A bug from Fallout 3 that was never resolved there either.
-Not a bug, but an agreeably unrealistic design.
-Not a bug, but just Bethesda’s console port UI logic.
Again, assuming the “bug” is actually the AI running away from an unholstered weapon, this seems like a pretty by-the-books Oblivion engine release.

Noooooooo! Don’t take away my prudent use of available resources!! (note: Thanks for that phrase, LesJarvis!)
Me CE is on its way and should be waiting for me when I get home. I usually don’t get the CE, but I had some Amazon credits and I loved me some Fallout 3, so I bit on this one. I’ll report on the contents when I see them.
I did play Vampire Bloodlines/STALKER Clear Sky DAY ONE and survived!
New Vegas can’t be as bad as those. CAN’T!

LP is definitely worth it in Fallout 3.
Yeah, while I didn’t play a ton of FO3 I love, love, love my lunchbox and bobblehead. They sure know how to do CEs right.
I’m undecided about this too. Did Fallout 3 tend to drop ammo for your favorite guns, or was it all random? I wouldn’t want to get into a case like STALKER where you have to use battlefield pickups eventually because you run out of ammo. On the one hand that is more realistic and survival oriented, but no fun if the rest of the game still makes you shoot a million enemies a hundred times each. I like the idea of extra roleplay fiddling, but I also want to use my favorite weapon.

Why is that a bug? Seems to make sense to me. Sure in Fallout 3 you could do that without causing an uproar but what he sees seems to actually make sense.
I just put about 2.5 hours in and only had one bug with some guys stuck in the ground during a quest related fight - I had to reload my QS and it was fine.
I’m blown away by the amount of content just in that first little village you find yourself in, honestly, TONS of interesting characters and dialog intermingled with some solid action.
I dont know about the console version, but the pc version of fallout 3 (playing roughly the same amount of time) crashed pretty regularly. Not a hard lockup thankfully, but still a crash.
I had a companion though about half of my play time and beyond being stupid beyond belief, my beloved companion carrying most of my spoils of unchanged war also disappeared, pissing me off to no ends.
Kind of makes you wonder why reviews didn’t ding the previous bethesda games for similar sounding bugs.
Heard from two people playing the PC version since it unlocked (about 4 hours?) that they haven’t had a crash yet.
So, is this going to be the spoiler or the non-spoiler thread?

Big tip for PC players if you don’t want to lose hours of progress: don’t use quicksave.
Lot of users are complaining that quick saves are disappearing as soon as you exit the game, apparently because of some steam/cloud issues (even if you have this disabled).
But manual saves (where you name the save) work fine.
