It’s not, but the Far Cry series never has. It’s always been some island or country far, far away from here without a lot of history or landmarks (or, at least, not comparable to Egypt). Montana will work just fine for the type of game Far Cry is.
I was just thinking that too - for some reason Far Cry is the one set in largely open country with occasional settlement while AC has always been focused on cities. Even the move to the American frontier had little cities within it. It’s interesting AC is the one that got the recent naval stuff… although there were boats in FC2 and Wildlands.
I wonder if the two series could be merged. Seems like adding first person to AC would pretty much do it at this stage :)
One is (or was) about parkour, and the other is a shooter.

Social stealth being the thing where you stood or walked with a small crowd of four people or so, which made one invisible?
Yeah, I always loved Social stealth. Getting lost in a crowd of people was a great mechanic, I thought. At least in the first AC it worked really well, because the clothing of the various groups was pretty similar to Altair’s clothing.
It got a little less believable in AC2 when he hid among prostitutes and such.
There was a version of it at least through Unity. Invisible (never mind the eye-catching costume) while walking in crowds, sitting on benches, etc.
Mind you, it was janky as heck, just like every other AC system.
Yeah, I think Unity was the last AC game with the crowd-hiding mechanic. At least, it was the last one that actually used it as part of the story campaign. There were missions in which you had to move Arno carefully through a crowd to get next to a target or enter a building.
What drove me nuts in AC Revelations was how the members of the gaggle you were with would get peeled away.
Surely the social stealth is somewhat less crazy than Hitman: Agent 47 assuming the identity of anyone by just putting their clothes on, even with a shiny bald head and a prominent barcode tattoo on his neck.
Well, now that you put it that way it just seems silly.
And with that realization, videogaming vanished in a puff of smoke, never to return.
Steam uninstalling and drive formatting …
