I figure not being a big speed racer fan will either kill this movie for me or make it bearable when they rape it. Either way, win for me!
The phrase “live action” is almost meaningless at this point.

Saw a recent clip of Matthew Fox in his Racer X costume. Looks odd but still pretty much like the cartoon. And his car is really funky, all black with green (I think) gauges, etc.

Looks goofy as hell…which, given the original `toon, is entirely appropriate.
The important question is: will the Mach 5 have the saw blades and jumper-thingie?
If it doesn’t then it’s not Speed Racer.
As well as occasional dialogue like “Lightning bring my monster car to liiiiiiiife!”
