From listening to NPR this morning, it sounds like Republicans are finally coalescing on a strategy and that is to say that if he was asking for a Quid Pro Quo and withholding aid to investigate a political rival, then that’s not okay, that’s an impeachable offense. But if he was asking for a Quid Pro Quo and withholding aid in order to investigate corruption, and the company being investigated coincidentally just happens to be working with Hunter Biden, then that’s perfectly okay and not an impeachable offense.

This is a good strategy, finally. Because this way they can admit to all the facts in evidence and still say with a straight face (somehow) that it’s not an impeachable offense.

And here’s the issue that House Democrats will need to hammer on in open testimony.

That in this thread – where ostensibly people who follow this thing fairly closely are posting – there are those who think that this is a “good strategy”. Because, if you’ve paid much attention at all, you know that it really fucking isn’t.

We’ve now had 3 separate witnesses – none of whom are radical leftist Democrats – testify that the condition on turning over funds was predicated on Zelensky going to a podium and specifically saying three words: “Biden”, “Investigation” and “Clinton”. And that the source on this went straight to Trump himself.

I expect this will be emphasized a lot in the coming weeks.
