“Look, did the President send Squee off to Ukraine to talk to some guys? Sure. But I’m telling you, it was just about having some beers with our Ukraine bros OK? I mean, the Ukraine guys like beer, I like beer, who doesn’t like beer? There was no quid pro quo. Look at these calendars I brought that prove the President’s call was perfect. Perfect. This is all a big witchhunt. Why aren’t you guys looking into the Biden’s? This has to be bullshit, just look at how upset you’ve made Mr. Nunes!”

I was initially suprised when Nunes yielded some of his time to a professional assuming Nunes would want to spin his BS at length, but then I realized the substance of the defense is so crappy and weak that it’s actually advantageous for Nunes personally to be able to blame the poor GOP perfomance on “ineffective assistance of counsel” - blame the lawyers! Works every time. I mean the GOP lawyer is clearly a pro but he’s also working with a giant pile of manure as his case.

GOP Counsel looks like he’s both confused and taking the biggest shit any human has ever taken.

Edit: Their entire play is to… double down on Biden being corrupt. That’s it. They think “well Biden was corrupt too, so it’s fine”.

I thought it’s more about establishing the idea that investigating Burisma was based primarily on an honest attempt to curb corruption, and the Biden issue just happened to follow as a result?

Well that’s their base’s general rationalization, so it’s not a surprise. “All politicians are corrupt. Who’s keeping score?”

Hmm, not sure the GOP really should be going down the road of “So the only qualification of this person is that they’re the (offspring) of (insert US politician)?”

I mean let’s go down that road. I’m all for it. I’m betting they wont be in short order.

I feel like this GOP lawyer is pulling some quotes from Taylor that could tar Biden, although I don’t know that they actually help Trump’s case a ton. IANAL

“It’s not unusual is it?”
“It’s unusual.”
“Well… uh… it’s not outlandish.”

Man, I was really hoping that was Rudy.

Unfortunately, Devin Nunes’ cow can’t run for his CA district because she resides at his dairy farm in Iowa.

Oh good, this is much less painful than hearing GOP OUTRAGE AND INDIGNATION!!1! for the whole time.

We’re into the 5 minute lightning round. The grandstanding is about to commence.

Tucker Carlson is the counsel for the GOP?

I can’t watch this while at work, I demand a screenshot.

Sorry he’s gone now, we’re back to Schiff.

His aspect is vaguely reminiscent of the guy who played the dean in Scent of a Woman, IMO.
