Last night I saw one of the GOP committee members on Cuomo’s show, advancing the line that, after all, Yovanovitch isn’t really an American, as she was born in Canada of parents who were Ukrainian or Russian or whatever. So how could Trump even trust her as Ambassador? Then when Cuomo pressed him on whether he was also really arguing that it was the Ukrainians, not the Russians, who interfered in the 2016 elections, his response was along the lines of really, Russians and Ukrainians, who can tell ‘em apart? Followed by you know there are a Russians in the Ukraine too?
I didn’t catch his name, I was too occupied with screaming at the TV.
This is why I don’t watch CNN anymore (at the moment): they bring on these people who argue in bad faith, try to bothsides the discussion and then cut to a commercial break with a smile and “we’ll be right back with more”. It’s hot garbage masquerading as fair and balanced journalism.
Tedra Cobb will be running against Elise Stefanik in 2020. Stefanik’s district is upstate NY, and is R+4 in the Cook PVI. It is more of a center-right district though, and in her career, Stefanik has been fairly moderate, at least by modern Republican standards. Stefanik beat Cobb by 14 in 2018, 56-42.
Tedra Cobb has raised $500,000 in the last 24 hours since Stefanik and the House Republicans pulled their stunt, with stories hitting local papers in the district that the once-moderate Stefanik has “Gone full MAGA.”
