Yep.
But again, in 1973 John Dean in testimony that the President had suggested paying off the Watergate burglars for their silence, a million dollars each if needed.
Which is mafia boss type shit.
And the polls stayed at or under 50%, until the actual tape of Nixon saying just that was released after a year long struggle and a SCOTUS decision.
It is what it is, and it’s at least interesting to note that the more things change, the more they stay the same.
In any event, the numbers continue to move favorably towards impeach and remove.
That’s good news.

And just a reminder, we basically all knew he wasn’t going to get convicted in the Senate. But the Democrats in the House have a constitutional duty here, and just the process alone has been damaging to Republicans and Trump, as it should.
The 538 chart lets you view only polls with that question and the average has been in the high 40s pretty consistently (47-48 mostly).
Y’all heard that Trump’s supposedly thinking of testifying in the House hearings? I’m sure his lawyers are thrilled about that.

Well his lawyers that haven’t been arrested on their own yet.
Very much like he’s been thinking of releasing his taxes for several years.
Oh it never happens, of course, because he would immediately incriminate himself for everything but Jimmy Hoffa’s disappearance.
Also, logistically it would be difficult for the Committee to make provision for the line of Republican members queuing up to “service” him.

The second he’s sworn in it’s probably perjury up the ass.

Well, he already lied in his written answers to Mueller, so I don’t know why anyone would expect this to be any different.
It would be hilarious to watch him babble incoherently like a drunk four year old, but of course it’ll never happen.

I think the offer was for Trump to give written testimony, so it would be less of a spectacle.
Changing one’s mind based on evidence is a discipline, like being a Jedi or a zen master.
I consider myself an educated and self-aware person as these things go, and the desire to selectively filter information so as to align with my preconceptions is nonetheless powerful and a thing I must constantly struggle against (often failing).
None of which is to say that it’s OK to have a population wallowing in confirmation bias and tribalism. But it is very human of them. So yeah, perhaps your respect for the species was too high to begin with. :)
Didn’t the reporting say “in writing”? So he’s going to have his lawyers draft some one sided bunch of bullshit, he’ll avoid all questions, then claim he was so great that he testified. At best he’ll sign a document he had no hand in crafting.
I did a little math, and the chance of him being exposed to cross examination are roughly p=4.940656e-324.
Holmes is the aide who overheard Gordon Sondland talking to Trump on the phone. In the restaurant. Loudly discussing the extortion of a strategic ally for dirt on a political opponent.
If Hannity wants to play with the big boys, he can go to prison like the big boys.
